Marques Colston has better stats than any of the NFC WRs. He should be there, as should Fred Taylor.

The Pro Bowl is a joke.

Actually I'm glad no Saints made it after Brees got his elbow injured on a cheap shot hit last year.

According to ESPN (which in this case would actually be a viable source for rumors), Bill Parcells is about to become the VP of Football Operations for the Atlanta Falcons...interesting. Of course he said "Hell to the naw" when asked if he wanted to coach.

woohwooh

I'm so happy. I was watching ESPN this morning and saw that Brayln made it.

Then I looked at the full roster, and my fav player, Josh Cribbs, made it too. Yay.

First Browns player(s) since Jamir Miller in 1999.

BROWNS | BUCKEYES | CAVALIERS | INDIANS |

I see the Pack have three starters: Favre (natch) and two defensive players, Al Harris and Aaron Kampman. Shows you how far the Packers' defense has come in just a couple of years.

Charles Woodson and Nick Barnett could (read: should) have arguably made it, too. I love how Bubba Franks is an alternate...although he did have a mediocre four games this season

I don't know why I get my hopes up every year that the ProBowl voting will get it right. 7 Vikings and 4 Bears to 4 Packers? My head was about ready to explode when I saw that.

Renege. Bill says no, and now Falcons fans have gotten kicked in the nuts by this organization once again. Ha ha ha ha ha, good one, Blank. You really had us going.

EDIT: And now he may go to the Dolphins.

....

lmao, we got used as leverage so that he could go to the MIAMI LOLPHINS.

I have to say that its absolutely ridiculous that Hasselbeck got voted in over Garcia.

Give me some evidence...make an argument. I need more than just the rantings of a frustrated homer. :P

I ain't finna argue about no Buccaneers getting into the Pro Bowl. Really, if you look at it, this year's edition has more of the word "team" written on and around it this year than in any other. Outside of Jon Gruden, the only other "big name" anyone outside Buccaneer Nation would recognize at first pop is Carnell "Cadillac" Williams--and he went down at the beginning of the year. Yes, stalwarts such as Brooks, Barber, and Galloway are there, but that is what they are--STALWARTS, meaning even though they're all still very productive, they've also been around very long, and after a while, they become mundane to the public eye, especially when newer, more popular names show up. I see it as a whole "changing of the guard" type thing. Anyway, getting back to the whole "team" thing, what happened each time a player went down on the field? THE WHOLE TEAM WENT TO THAT PLAYER'S SIDE. Now if that ain't saying something about the TEAM, I don't know what does or can. Shows unity. Shows a bunch of guys who strap on those pweter hard hats, punch their cards, strap up and go to WORK. It also says something about the leadership on that team and the steadiness of those hands. And not one singular player on that squad gets a vote for the Pro Bowl, which only further backs what I've been saying for the past few days: THIS team is the one no one is talking about that may actually end up sneaking up on some people and doing damage. Don't sleep on it. :D

I'll mention this one other thing here: not one Jaguar got voted in either. But I think this team is a bit more visible in the public conscience than the Buccaneers. And they could very well be the most dangerous team going into the playoffs. They already might be the most physical team in the whole LEAGUE. And I don't think you'd find many people who'd argue against that. So um, if my playoff bracket predictions play out the way I see it, and the Chargers end up drawing the Jags in the first round, especially given San Diego's recent history of early playoff exits...I'd say things bode quite well for those Jaguars.

(Secret fantasy hope: Jags vs Bucs in SBXLI. But that's just me. ^_^ )

I will say this, though: the James Harrison got into the Pro Bowl really kinda made me glad, because kinfolk SHO' deserve it. Now Mr. Roethlisberger? That one I ain't really too keen on, especially considering Derek Anderson's emergence from practically out of nowhere this year, looking like a younger Matt Hasselbeck. BUT...maybe next year, DA3. Either way, congrats, Ben. Now get ready for the Rams on Thursday night...and try not to get upset by a way inferior road team you guys SHOULD dismantle rather easily.

(But then...many said the same thing about the Steelers versus the Jets, too, and we saw what happened then. I'm just saying...)

*Disclaimer: I am not an authoritative expert on stuff...I just do a lot of reading and research and keep in close connect with a bunch of people who are authoritative experts on stuff. 😁

over/under of cam cameron getting fired, and tuna taking over as coach.

just sayin.

i will give parcells credit, everywhere he has stopped he has improved all his teams giants, patriots, jets, cowboys. especially the cowboys which was a joke devoid of any talent whatsoever, now they are a playoff team and a serious contender. if i'm the dolphins i'd be very happy in getting this guy in charge of player personel. coaching wise hes long since finished but managerial, he comes highly recommended. Tank should be very pleased with this.

So I've taken a few days to think about the Bills season now that they are offiially out of the playoffs and I am satisfied with their play. They are ~.500 and were injury riddled throughout the year. 15 players on IR as of today, plus JP going down and Lynch out for a few games.

BILLS IR ROSTER

-Denney, Ryan (DE)

-Everett, Kevin (TE)

-Harrison, Kevin (LB)

-Merz, Aaron (OL)

-Murphy, Matt (TE)

-Posluszny, Paul (LB)

-Price, Peerless (WR)

-Schouman, Derek (TE)

-Simpson, Ko (S)

-Thomas, Anthony (RB)

-Thomas, Kiwaukee (CB)

-Wallace, Al (DE)

-Webster, Jason (CB)

-Whittle, Jason (OL)

-Wilson, George (S)

The top 3 picks (Lynch, Posluszny, and Edwards) impressed me and all three should be Pro Bowl contenders in a few years.

They have a bunch of young talent and should be a playoff contender in '08, and in years to come.

*Cross Fingers for Limas Sweed to be available at our draft pick.

I think mainly it has very little to do with stats. Just the fact that Garcia for whatever reason helped to turn this team around as well as he has. Hasselbeck has been decent this season, but just the fact that Jeff Garcia has been the best player in terms of influence all season should get him the nod. Unfortunately the NFL doesn't work like that though. But if you do wanna look at it statistically, while Hasselbeck has more yards and more TDs, Garcia has a higher Passer Rating, completion %, and less INTs.

Though I am admittedly a frustrated ranting homer, I can make a case for Marques Colston:

Rank/Player/Team/Rec/Yds/TD

2/Marques Colston/NO/87/1,092/9

T4/Larry Fitzgerald/ARI/83/1,166/8 < Pro Bowl starter

8/Terrell Owens/DAL/76/1,307/14 < Pro Bowl starter

T4/Torry Holt/STL/83/1,055/7

7/Donald Driver/GB/78/1,016/2

Colston has incredible hands and gets bonus points in my book for his non-traditional TD celebration: he tosses the ball to the ref and heads for the sideline. Driver's a great WR but is clearly the weakest link here. He has 9 fewer catches, fewer yards, and 7 fewer TDs than Colston. Sure looks like he's there on Favre's coattails.

Colston deserved to go.

Wow...the local sports radio station, 680 "The Fan", drank the Parcells kool-aid yesterday and the hosts were going on and on about how great this was for the Falcons blah blah blah. And as anyone knows these days, until the ink is dry on the signatures (and even after, like Petrino) nothing's a sure thing. And the thought hit me, good God, what if this falls through? And last night my wife is watching the news and yells up to me, "Parcells stiffed the Falcons." And I reacted like Homer Simpson..."DOH!"

Said it many times, I'll say it again...I truly hate the Atlanta Falcons, but as much as I'm tempted, it's so bad I can't be pleased or kick 'em while they're down. Beating up on your arch-rival is a lot more fun when things are normal and they're competitive. I feel bad for their fans, their players, and Arthur Blank, who appears to be a man with integrity who can't find anyone else who has that quality. Nobody deserves this kind of misery. This is like the Saints' Katrina season, just without the hurricane.

True that! I still would like to see Brooks in there just on name alone. If others can make it on name alone, he should be a shoe in. I'd like to see Galloway make it too. I'm not saying he should has he's had a couple bad games and others in the NFC are having better seasons. The one argument I might like to throw out there as an important player possible Buc snub is Barrett Ruud.

An all FL super bowl...homer ;) j/k Wouldn't it be sweet to have the (depleated, but still winning as a team like you mentioned) Bucs beat the Pats in their final chance to be perfect? For me, it would be a dream come true to have the Bucs beat the Mullet Nation, I mean Stillers.

I have to think that having a Jacksonville vs Tampa Bay Super Bowl wouldn't be too outta the question. Tampa could sneak up on a few teams if the cards fall right and suprise everyone, and Jacksonville looks like they could beat just about anyone right now.

Tampa would have to pull of a damn near miracle two weeks in a row, but if Dallas ahs an off game, and it snows in GB it could happen.

Jacksonville right now I feel is the only team that could sneak up on the Pats. As long as they can avoid Indy they have a really good shot at taking the AFC.

Ahhhh, wishful thinking :D

All things being equal, i'd rather work for Huizenga than Blank. At least Wayne knows to stay the hell out of the way.
