.... I'm sure somewhere.... Tank is breathing some sigh of relief....

Is he still serving his suspension? How long is that thing?

Three months, IIRC.

The Bucs' 31-year drought is over.

Yes, they just scored their very first TD on a kickoff return in the history of the franchise. Yet another high point in the Falcons' season. :P

Very fitting, for a team that's never put consecutive winning seasons in their 42 seasons of play....

I saw that, and I knew from the second he picked it up that he was gonna take it to the house. I was sad. Then when he was at the 20 and the announcer was screaming about some damn curse, I realized that this was the 1st time the Bucs have done it...ever.

And to top it all off, DeAngelo Hall reminds me why I disliked him in the first place. What a guy. What a team. What a week. What a year. This had better be the "darkest before dawn" moment, because if THIS is not the low point of this franchise's history, then I don't wanna know what the lowest would be.

I love the Falcons. -puts up white flag for 2007-08.-

And can someone tell me why Fred Taylor has NEVER been to the Pro Bowl? What kind of :censored: is that?

How about a little love for my Cleveland Browns? 9-5 and tied for first in the AFC North. Thank you Jaguars. At the beginning of the season if someone had told me the Browns were going to win 9 games I would have said "9 wins? Maybe over the next two seasons." What a year. Now they just need to win out and have The Steelers trip up one more time.

Olbermann: "Hi, I'm Chris Hansen/Hanson from Dateline NBC. What are you doing here?"

.... I'm sure somewhere.... Tank is breathing some sigh of relief....

He won't be when the Pats go 19-0.

Hey, let him have his peace for at least one week ^_^

I saw, I came, I left.

Damn Steelers losing again today.

However, their remaining games @ St. Louis and @ Baltimore are VERY winnable and they should be able to wrap up the division and the 3 seed.

But wow, I REALLY wanted to watch the Snow Bowl between the Browns and the Bills today, those are the best!

The Steelers have lost road games to sub par teams in Glendale, Denver and East Rutherford. I wouldn't say anything is wrapped up yet.

Besides I'm actually kind of hoping for the Browns to win the division which would mean San Diego would have to play either Pittsburgh or Jacksonville in the first round. I'm confident they would lose to either one.

New York Giants choking their playoff berth away?

It wouldn't surprise me. They "Coughlined" up their season last year as well. And after his last game I concluded that every week is a good week to have Eli Manning on my fantasy team's bench.

They could lose their last two games easily: at Buffalo, vs. New England

You see, the Steelers have this issue this season, at least in my opinion...oddly enough, it's the same issue that's dogged the team that just beat them today over the past couple seasons...

...The Steelboyz have shown a tendency to play up and down to competition.

I think I first saw that in the game they lost to the Broncos. I knew they would lose to the Cards before that game was even played (what with Arizona's head coach AND O-line coach being former Steeler assistants and all)...but the JETS? Yeah...that was the game in which the O-line basically turned into human turnstiles. Add that to the fact that, for about the past three years or so, the Jaguars have had the Steelers' number (and probably become their FIERCEST rival over that time), and yeah...I saw the Jags victory coming. (And I may be the only one in this city who is actually HAPPY about the outcome of this game--but then, J'ville's like 6 hours from my hometown, and I can't go against home, you know... :D )

To speak on the issue of Fred Taylor having never made a Pro Bowl in his decade in the NFL, which is just a damn travesty, I can really only see about two or three things that might have caused that: a/ he does play in Jacksonville, a city that apparently a large contingent of people STILL don't know has an NFL franchise (the phrase was tinged with a good bit of cynicism as well as sarcasm); b/ Fred's had a rather dogged history of injuries over his otherwise marvelous tenure in the NFL; and c/ the Jags have been TERRIBLY inconsistent over the past couple years, and maybe that's done took some shine off ol' boy Freddy.

I will say this, though: it seems as if the arrival of Pinball Jones-Drew has completely reinvigorated #28, cuz dude is on a RAMPAGE this year. With him and MJD #32 in the same backfield, and if Garrard and his receivers continue to improve, this team might do some serious damage come playoff time. They're already a team most other NFL squads don't wanna play because of how physical the team is (ask the Colts and Steelers about that), but now, to sorts steal the name of a certain board member here, they're now "scarygood".

(Off-note: how wierd is it of me to harbor such praise upon a man whose collegiate days were spent inside the uniforms of the team I'm sworn by blood and allegiance to hate with every ounce of blood and every morsel of cartilage in my body--that team being the U. of Florida Gators???)

In other news...WHEW! Boy did you see the straight-up WHUPPIN my Buccaneer boys put on dem Dirty Birds? WHEW! And THANK GOD my boys FINALLY got a kickoff return for a TD in the regular season! Now I ain't gotta hear about THAT dubious dishonor no more. (Those with a keen memory may remember the other dubious dishonor that once hung over the Buccaneers' heads--that of never having won a game when the temperature dropped below 41 degrees at kickoff, a dishonor they finally kicked to the side during their Super Bowl season IIRC.)

Now...onward to week 16 of the NFL season!

But wow, I REALLY wanted to watch the Snow Bowl between the Browns and the Bills today, those are the best!

It was wild. There was at least 2 inches of snow on the field for the entire game. You couldn't see the numbers on the field or the hash marks. At one point the officials had no idea where they were on the field. There was a penalty on Buffalo and they didn't know where to spot the ball. The weather calmed down midway through the third quarter but the first half was the worst winter weather I have ever seen in a football game.

From now on when I hear about Buccaneers kick returns for TDs, the first thing I expect to hear is SANTA MARIA!!!!!! :D

So, Buccaneers at San Francisco next weekend. Ill be there for sure in full pirate lore. Any other Bay Area CCSLCers gonna catch that one? Ics, Pucky, anyone?

FIRE THEM CANNONS!!!!!!!

You're very right about that, but now that they're really in a race with Cleveland, I don't think they'll take these two teams lightly, they'll pound 'em hard and make sure they win the division. Time to stop playing around, just get 'er done. Steelers vs. Browns in playoffs is a good possibility as well.

To further hit on the plight on the Steelers, there is this little nugget: the remaining two games are--ahem--ROAD GAMES...against the Rams and Ravens. Subpar teams. On the road. Pittsburgh's done already dropped games to the Cardinals, Broncos and the Jets. And we seen what happened yesterday.

I'm just saying...if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck...

...meanwhile, the Teal Cats get the Raiders in Duval, followed by a road date at the Texans--a team that has given them FITS over the years. IF the Jags can manage to knock them Steers off at the end (and this is presuming they beat the Raiders, a team they SHOULD beat), this team is going to be FIRE HOT going into the playoffs.

Again--I'm just saying...

...meanwhile, the NFC team that could cause some damage in the playoffs that NO ONE is talking about this year? How 'bout my Buccaneers. Dallas looked quite human yesterday, which kinda gave every other NFC playoff team hope (or will come playoff time). That tilt versus the Texans was a definite setback (partially due to a 3rd stringer in at QB), but um uh...as far as I'm concerned, they can continue to be overlooked as far as I'm concerned. Keep sneaking up on people...and then let them, well, uh...

...FIRE THEM CANNONS!!!

its a little thing called "december collapse" which i think started with the game in green bay which they barely won, and the game against the lions, which they barely won and lost a game which they probably should have won but didn't. They'll lose the next two games and lose in their playoff opener probably against the buccaneers.

I have been and kinda backed off lately but i did say they were paper tigers. most people have them already in the nfc title game, i don't. I have them out of the first round. The defense is suspect and this is 'parcells' team that did collapse in december during his tenure. What we are witnessing is what i expect, another parcells december collapse but with wade in charge.

70 :censored:ing million dollars and a 6 or 7 years worth of first round draft picks invested in a defense that is somewhat suspect. Surprisingly i'm not even mad at them they only held them to 10 points. Which is really good considering McNabb should have torched their asses for about 50 or 60 points. So they did their part, its the offense that was down right offensive. if this happens again, i want jessica simpson banned from texas stadium for good. apparantly he's too busy paying more attention to banging her than focusing on the eagles. Shame on you romo.

6 points in a 10-6 loss? thats unacceptable. There was no excuse for that. I don't ever want to see that again. They better not lose against the panthers and ruin my christmas again.

i better slow down, my blood pressure is rock n roll already. one of two things probably going to happen, heart attack or tv out the window. can't really afford either. so to take my mind of that philthy performance against the philthy eagles, i'm going to go to Jack in the Box have a couple of jack in the box tacos and totally forget that ever happened and it was just another bad experience from wal-mart.
