Proposed Seattle MLS Logo & Uniform Designs

The GOALSeattle.com blog is reporting that the following logo and uniform concepts were designed for Adrian Hanauer by LuminousCreative of Everett, Washington. Hanauer is the current owner of the Seattle Sounders of USL-1 and a partner with movie executive Joe Roth in bringing a Major League Soccer expansion team to Seattle. That said, should Hanauer's efforts to land an MLS franchise for Seattle be successful, he has opted to secure the services of a different design firm in developing an identity package for said team.

I really like version 2, but I'd like to see it with the color scheme of versions 1 or 4.

They should either emphasize the needle (which gets lost in versions 1 and 3), or go with the Sounders name.

emerald city fc looks the best to me. the first logo is a bad juventus ripoff.

Actually, I like the Juventus vibe of it, but then again, I really like the Juventus badge.

With that said, a Seattle Sounders badge would rock.

[Croatia National Team Manager Slavan] Bilic then went on to explain how Croatia's success can partially be put down to his progressive man-management techniques. "Sometimes I lie in the bed with my players. I go to the room of Vedran Corluka and Luka Modric when I see they have a problem and I lie in bed with them and we talk for 10 minutes." Maybe Capello could try getting through to his players this way too? Although how far he'd get with Joe Cole jumping up and down on the mattress and Rooney demanding to be read his favourite page from The Very Hungry Caterpillar is open to question. --The Guardian's Fiver, 08 September 2008

I'm not even a soccer/football fan and that's the first thing that came to my mind.

Really? First thing I thought of was Celtic FC. I think thats why I like the look so much.

The crest of version 2 is incredible; I love it. Not too sure I like the orange in there, but it's still probably my favorite overall. I like the look of 1, with the colors and all, but the badge is a no-go. I didn't think Juventus (but it's screaming it now)....it just looked too 5-minutes-of-wordart.

The Emerald City identity I'm kinda fond of...primarily because it was the original name for (and may still be) my Seattle based team in my fictional soccer universe. Their execution of it, however, leaves a bit to be desired somehow.

And probably best overall goes to Sounders 74. Cool name, cool crest, solid colors, and a tie-in to local history. Winner. (Still...I love the Seattle FC v2.0 badge. Love love love it....and I've never been anywhere close to Seattle.)

Go Gators. Go Blue Raiders. Go Commodores. Go USC Trojans.

Preds & Avs.

Braves, Rays, & Dodgers.

Titans, Colts, Broncos, Cardinals.

Grizzlies. 14ers, Jam.

Team Spirit + Laziness = Yay.

They all look great , but I am partial to the Sounders 74 logo with some history incorporated into the design...

Ah...but just like in Houston with the Latino population and their "1836" (not sure of the year) uproar...wouldn't America's Sounder population find the number "74" offensive? C'mon now...keep them in mind!

I like the idea of Emerald City FC...and I too like the sounders reference. Light blue/Green is a unique color combo not seen too often...I like it.

The first one looks like a Celtic rip off. Not liking the shape of it.

The second one looks like a bad looking trophy for a soccer league in Seattle.

The third logo looks the best IMO, but the name is horrible. If they go with THIS logo, they should incorporate the 'X' into the uniforms more than what they did.

The fourth logo looks the safest, best name and colors. But 'safest' is always 'bestest' ^_^

I love the green and light blue color scheme in most of them...very 'Northwest' looking. I am kind of intrigued by the possibilities of the Miami Hurricanes-esque color scheme in one of them. I think it works. As for the uniform designs, boring and predictable at best.

Why are you people getting concept 1 confused with Celtic? Seriously. Celtic doesn't even have vertical stripes.
