With KC doing the powder blue alts, could Toronto, Philly, and Minnesota could be far behind?

Toronto: With the throwback alt next season, it could potentally happen in three-six years.

Philly: Their Double-A team in Reading released a all powder blue alt, and with the '48 themed alt homes, a '80 themed road alt might make the scene.

Minnesota: They already have two-three alts, but if they decide to rebrand when the new park opens....anything's possible.

A potential darkhorse could be St. Louis, because they don't have an alternate, and maybe, just maybe, Seattle. The former Expos, the Nationals, have a powder blue jersey in my dreams.

The Royals are the only team that could do the full powder blue look and not look completely ridiculous.

IMO, the all-time best powder:

Obviously won't be seeing any throwback though

Take note of the button shirts and belted pants. Not common in powder blues of the day.

Also, one of the best hats.

I'm sure there are plenty here that would disagree with me on this, but the Twins' old powder blues were a thing of beauty. I own one and it's my favorite jersey of all time. Of course, nostalgia may have something to do with it.

I think it may.

White pants with powder blue jerseys will look stupid.

And yet so many people love these:

I think the issues that would arise from the Royals' throwback powder blue jersey with white pants will be corrected by the royal blue lettering they plan to use. These aren't true throwbacks, as some suggested, but a modernization of sorts.

Bah, royal blue should never mix with powder blue.

IMO - The combo works well together. I would say that Navy Blue works even better. But again, it's just one man's opinion.

I think there are teams that don't mix their colors well, The SD Chargers do a nice job.

The thing that I feel is going to suck the worst is the fact that the jersey, pants, and hat will all be different colors. I absolutely hate that. it's my biggest pet peeve in football as well.

Add the fact that the Royals suck, and you've got a powder keg waiting to explode.

I forgot about the Expos and Cardinals powders. Am I right in thinking that the Cubs did them, too?

Yes . . . including a set with white pinstripes.

I still have my old powder Twins replica pullover from when I was a kid. I make the gf wear it w/a push-up bra when we go to baseball games ^_^ When she's not pregnant, I mean.

Bah, royal blue should never mix with powder blue.

Explain the logic underlying this conclusion, please. As long as enough contrast exists between the two shades, there is nothing wrong with this, IMNSFHO.

My personal rule of thumb for football is, helmet color=pants color, and should be either white or the tertiary color in the set. There are exceptions, of course, but this is generally most aesthetically pleasing to my uneducated eye.

Exactly the way I feel. But if not I feel that SOME element of the uniform has to match, wether it be the jersey and helmet, pants and helmet, jersey and pants, you get the general idea. Thats why teams like the Bills, Falcons, Florida Gators, ect ect usually look like crap to me.

I fear powder blues making a full-fledged comeback. I recognize that I am in the minority, but I have always thought that they were ugly as sin. Back in the days when the powder blues were gradually being phased out by the various teams that wore them, I was doing cartwheels.

FINALLY someone has my line-of-thinking! That annoys the hell out of me as well.
