Use of serif font. Serif shapes.Elements not in common: How the light blue is used. How the yellow is used. Actual letter forms, shape, and weight. Use of gradients/shading. Use of red. Use and coloring of negative-space elements. Formatting of outlines. Sense of "layering" of elements.Which is to say, there's really not much to the comparison. I like to analyze things as much as the next guy (in great detail I might add) but you have to be able to differentiate situations in which somebody is actually comparing two items based on visual similarity from those in which they're just trying to make a point. The point here not being, 'Do you think the guy who designed the Rays' identity copped the logotype directly from the Kraft Mayo jar?' but rather, 'The Rays' new identity sucks; it doesn't look like a sports logo.
