philly97flyer
You can not tell me the Phillies are better then the MetsThere is no way on earth the Phillies are better then the Mets, when the Mets want to play to their full potential they are the best team in the National League it was the case in 2006, and 95% of 2007. If not for that collapse last year the Mets would have led the division almost wire to wire a season after leading wire to wire. Its just a matter of desire the Mets sometimes take games off, and under Willie Randolph it was almost like a loss was no big deal the Mets could turn it on any time, that dont work. Now they have caught up there should be no excuses. The Mets should add a corner OF in case Church continues to hear bells, and to provide an extra bat, and I pray Luis Castillo needs knee surgery so Easley and Argenis Ryees continue to split time at 2B. They can also use another relieverBut who has a better starting five in the NLMike Pelfrey is developing in to a solid starter now that he lost the stupid mouthguard.Johan is JohanOliver Perez when he is on is one of the nastiest lefties in the NLJohn Maine is usually solid and Pedro may have some magic leftYou have Jose Reyes the most exciting player in MLBDavid Wright the best 3B in the NLCarlos Beltran Delgado looks rejuvenatedTatis is a miracle findRamon Castro is very underratedEndy Chavez is the best defensive OF in baseball. How can this team not win?Did you not read my previous post? Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard. Talent doesnt mean :censored: when you have a team full of headcases and underachievers. Ill take a team with a little less talent, but plays the game hard and the right way. All that dancing, hot dogging, and showboating will catch up to them, I promise you. It did last year, and Im not the least bit worried that it will again this year. Cujo
This just in: CC Sabathia is a freaking beast!Another win tonight, now 4-0 as a Brewer -- and on top of that, a complete game shutout over the Cards tonight. It must be nice to be a Milwaukee fan for once.Shades of Rick Sutcliffe in '84 or Doyle Alexander in '87. Nice trade for The Brewers.Nice for now. It's gonna hurt come October when CC becomes a free agent. Dunno if Milwaukee's gonna be able to keep him around, especially after the stellar "contract year" he's been having. The Brewers are going for it right now. So far it's working. All roads lead to Dollar General.
pcgd
The Brewers HAVE to go for it now. Outside of Sheets, their pitching was pretty suspect. Their bullpen is a mess. Their starting pitchers not named Ben or CC are mediorcre. And those two guys are free agents this year. They have alot of talent but are short on pitching. Its this year or Bust, cause they are going to finish 3rd or 4th in the Central next year unless they can sign some guys.
Shumway
Apparently, if Kerry Wood has to make a trip to the DL for his finger, former Notre Dame wide receiver, Jeff Samardzja, might get called up. Although I don't follow Notre Dame that closely, I'm kind of excited.

footballfiji
There must be something in the clubhouse water in Atlanta. Chipper pulls his hammy (which I'm going to officially re-name his "Iowa Chop") and Hudson leaves after 70 pitches with elbow inflammation. If the Braves pull out a series this weekend in Philly, then they should definitely be buyers and not sellers before July 31. infrared41
Yeah, I never wanna hear Mets fans claim that the season is over after a loss in July. WTF.So are they now claiming that the pennant is just a formality? I love it, after the first loss in that Phillies series Mets fans were talking about how the season was over, it was a "crippling loss" or "devastating loss" and all other sorts of nonsense. Billy Wagner was a big wuss etc... Then their team proceeded to take the next two games and they now stand alone in first place. The phrase "wow Mets fans I guess you feel pretty -ing stupid right about now" comes to mind. I'm sure we'll see the pendulum swing the other way just as soon as The Cardinals take a game in their series against The Mets this weekend.Edit: PS Mets fans, we still have 60 games to play.My Entire Team Sucks -Jay Mohr on The Jim Rome Show All roads lead to Dollar General. See Red
Thanks, Mets fans, for becoming more unbearable than my fellow Red Sox fans. It almost makes me want to apologize for all the nasty things I've ever said to, or about, Red Sox fans...almost. Actually, I think you guys winning another title last year may have in the end helped your rep more than it hurt it. At least now you're all acting like you've been somewhere. Dare I say that Red Sox fans seem to have gone from whiny and reactionary to displaying a quiet confidence? At least around here anyway. Who knows? Maybe my kindness towards Red Sox fans is more a result of percocet than anything else... All roads lead to Dollar General.

I don't know about "quiet" confidence, but I don't mind them boasting and even the occasional shot at other teams... unlike say.... Cubs fans.... especially those who call some American League teams "irrelevant" I saw, I came, I left.
