Color vs. Color in the AHL

Apparently, the Admirals' new thirds have been deemed light enough that opponents can still wear their dark sweaters - remember that it's still white at home in the AHL. From the AHL's website:

The white helmets are not doing the Ads any favors here.

For all the bird de lis haters I think the bird de lis isnt supposed to be a pelican and a fleur de lis I think its just a fleur de lis with a pelicans head. Thats what it looks like to me. Also the flair around the tip of the beak is just flair that fleur de lis have sometimes source I am from NOLA.

oddly enough, I didn't know about the Ads' thirds until a couple days ago. and yes, the Brewers are the Ads' main sponsor. While I would've liked to see something similar in design to their early 90s threads, these are alright. I just wish the Ads would get the full dead admiral on the home and away.

The Sound Tigers have been doing color vs. color since last season as their home jersey is orange. This year they added a white alt. Plus, I remember reading years ago that light blue and gold were acceptable "home" colors as far as USA Hockey goes, so maybe light blue falls into that category.

With white helmets and white socks, in a remarkable display of W-T-effiness.

I agree with you and think that the biggest problem is the white helmets. They would look better with black, but you can't have two teams with the same color helmets. That would just be way to similar and confusing.

I think the least of your worries is if the Milwaukee Admirals are wearing black helmets when they face off against the Norfolk Admirals who also happen to be wearing black helmets.

At least the Admirals have their own shoulder logo and don't need to rip off the parent team's one!

I'm afraid the AHL is losing its unique identity (at least its teams are) and turning into NHL Lite. Who else sees that problem?

That's been going on for years though - wearing the parent team's logo on the shoulder. I actually like it.

That would be the Rockford IceHogs.

I myself do not. I'd rather minor league teams in every sport stake out their own identity.
