I don't understand all this love for USC and declaring them "best team in the country".

The Pac-10 wasn't as strong as it's been in years past. Half the conference had losing records, and two of those teams were absolutely terrible. The rest of their schedule included bowl-less Virginia, Notre Dame, and two Big Ten teams....not exactly Murderer's Row.

I know I am a fan but did you watch any of their games. Their team has a top player at every position. You could mistake them for an NFL team. Almost every starter is gonna go pro. The level of talent they have is unbelievable. It's Only gonna get better too. Their recruiting from all over the country now. The west coast is not the limit anymore. I think they have a kid from the Bronx on the team.

I saw a few of their games. But their competition wasn't the toughest around, and USC still managed to lose a game to a team that got handled by Utah and Penn State. Georgia has a history of churning out pro players (with possibly the best QB and RB entering this year's draft), but they're a 3-loss team. Assuming Ohio State loses tomorrow, USC will not have beaten a team in the final top-10. (I'm too lazy right now to look up the last rankings and all the bowl results.)

Fair enough. So how many teams are better than USC?

Right now, I'd say Texas, Florida, Oklahoma, and Utah.

Ok but you logic is based on W-L records. I'm basing mine on the shills the players possess. Did you watch any USC games this year? They are scary talented. They really play together when they are motivated. In a bowl situation where they have a month to prepare and you know the players are focusing, I don't think they can be beat.

Congratulations, you can get a bunch of guys to focus on winning a bloody exhibition game which is more or less a de facto home game for them. Shame you can't do the same when it counts.

If we awarded MNCs based on talent and recruiting, Notre Dame would have a couple of recent MNCs and Alabama would be on MNC #20 or something. Talent is not the ultimate arbiter in this system. Winning all, not most, of your games so you can win the MNC title game is.

Oh, and this current exhibition game is an abomination unto the Lord.

WE WON A HALF!!! Seriously, it's really time to just slip out the door at halftime. We'll declare victory, cash that big ass check, and head on back to Columbus. It's not like anyone is actually paying any attention to this game. Who'd even notice?

The BCS Championship game will be on ABC, ESPN would be retarded to air it on the cable network as opposed to the broadcast network.

Actually the BCS will be on ESPN, not ABC

Asked why ESPN won't at least put the BCS title game on ABC, ESPN president George Bodenheimer said, "ESPN is the perfect home given its 100% commitment to serving sports fans"

The Rose Bowl will stay on ABC, at least for 2010:

Disney already has the rights to the BCS' Rose Bowl in a separate deal and can move that game from ABC to ESPN.

Bodenheimer said the Rose Bowl will stay as scheduled on ABC through the 2010 game.

It's a risky move, but hey it's ESPN backyard, we're just playing in it.

Honestly, ESPN is handling a bit of a dud in the whole BCS package. When they expanded and added the fifth game, it's garnered terrible ratings (the Orange Bowl got a 6.5 share)

Nice of Fox to cut off the Texas marching band in the middle of their performance of "Stairway to Heaven".

Then again it is "Stairway to Heaven", a song we've all heard three zillion times already, so never mind. I guess missing out on number three-zillion-and-one is no great loss.

No. I'm just particularly high tonight. B) Seriously though, I am just happy the Buckeyes are playing respectable football in a Bowl Game. At least it's not 41-6 or something. Oh, and that last personal foul call was complete bull- :censored:. Still, it took Texas two 4th down conversions and a few penalties to get this TD. I think LSU was scoring on us by accident at this point last season. After the past two seasons, I'll take what I can get at this point. I would like to see what Ohio State could do on offense if their playbook was more than two pages long. Three and out on more brilliant play calling by Tressel. Here's where the bottom drops out. Oh well, it was fun for a while.

Is it just me or has FOX done an abysmal job calling this game? They missed the fake punt. They didn't even notice Ohio State putting in Boeckmann and Pryor on OSU's first play on offense, despite the fact that the cameras were right on it. Thank God these games are going back to ESPN/ABC.

EDIT: If the Bucks keep going 3 and out the defense is going to wear out quickly and this game will get ugly quick. Oh and :censored: Jim Tressel. Besides beating Michigan, what exactly does this guy bring to the table? He won a championship in 2002 with John Cooper's team. His "play for field position" offense has managed to do nothing except wear out his defense. Oh well, odds are it won't be as embarrassing a loss as the previous two BCS games were.

...And Texas has flipped the switch.

17-6 'Horns. Game over.

I was just about to say the same thing. The dumptrucking is imminent.

You guys are a little late to the party. I called it before the last Texas TD.

I'm going to be so salty if Ohio State somehow wins this game.

I'd hate to ruin your night Flame but I really hope your night is ruined. Nothing personal. :D

Damn. Is Texas way overrated or what? Win or lose, I think the Big XII is being exposed for what they are in this game; a more exciting version of The Big Ten.

No worries, Flame. If Texas can go back to, and stick with the no-huddle, they should still be able to come away with the W.

Edit: Ugh. Kinda hard to go no-huddle when you go 3-and-out and you're already back on defense. <_<

Texas looks like they're insulted to even be in the Fiesta Bowl and should be playing for the Crystal Ball.

Or they're just overrated and the nation is beginning to realize that Texas is basically Colt McCoy and an ok defense.

After Thursday night maybe someone will finally see what I've seen all along. The Big XII just ain't that great fellas.

And don't start going to the "Texas doesn't want to be there" :censored:. :D Did they want to be there when they were up 17-6 and we were calling the game over?
