Inflicting pain isn't what baseball is about, and we'd be better off without a lot of that posturing. I will say, however, that batters better stay in the box and off the plate or they've only themselves to blame.That attitude is exactly why we have big babies such as Prince Fielder, Fat Panda, and Alex Rodriguez in the game today. They've eliminated the ability for the men to police themselves and allow the babies to flourish. I'm not glorifying it, but holy cow the way baseball is played today makes soccer look like a contact sport. Players whine about hard slides, they whine about a pitch inside, they whine about not getting paid, they whine about not playing, they whine about the ball park and it's walls being too far out. All I hear out of baseball are a bunch of whining babies who need to get spanked by real men. Hell, Nolan Ryan did it to Robin Ventura when Ventura went out to challenge him. We need more men like Nolan in this game and less babies. Wait a minute, I guess that's what you get when you expand by 4 teams and let 100 players in the majors who have no reason for being there, you have to fill out the rosters with a bunch of immature babies who need to be coddled and have everything go their way.
