I guess I was wrong... or was I? Cutler definitely found his game long before Barbre did, but by the time Barbre finally found it, Cutler lost it again. And Rodgers, with one glorious throw, may have just ended any lingering doubts that he can win big, close games like Favre did.

Odd spot for this, but did the saints alter their gold pants this season? Something just doesnt look right about the stripe.

The Bears continue to defy logic by finding new and innovative ways to lose games.

Yes, this way was called the "Cutler Method"...which is very similar to the "Delhomme Method" that people in Charlotte have experienced quite a few times.

Meanwhile Orton leaves Chicago and finds a way to win a game! Go figure!!

Meanwhile some other random week 1 thoughts;

Seahawks draft Aaron Curry and get a shut out (albeit against the Rams), the Lions draft Stafford and concede 45 points (albeit against the Saints).

My 3 wins for the Packers this season prediction already looks very shaky. (I think it did before the games but there we go!)

No real surprise winners yet in week 1, except perhaps the 49ers over the Cardinals, especially considering Arizona was at home. The Giants get a good win over the Redskins.

Surprised no one commented on the dirty hit that injured McNabb. That was about as clear a piling on call (now there's an old ref term - now it's 'unnecessary roughness') as you'll ever see. The other shock was that Carolina looked sooooo bad. They were 8-0 at home last year??

Saints looked good. Didn't expect the D to give up 20 to Detroit (other Lions TD was a fumble return) but hey, it worked, and they got 3 pioks (Sharper's a playmaker!). Reggie's 3rd annual 'breakout season' is off to a rocky start - 69 total yards, 2 fumbles (1 lost).

I was quite disappointed that Miami couldn't muster more of an effort here in Atlanta. :cursing:

As for the Bucs...looks like a long year by the bay.

Is there a regular time slot for ESPN's NFL Blitz? I know it's fashionable to bash Chris Berman, but I really miss the days with "Boomer" and TJ on Primetime. I only come across bits and pieces of it at random times.

Because nobody knows exactly when Sunday Night Baseball ends, it's tough to tell, but it usually leads off SC with 2 or 3 games, they break to something else, come back to it, do a couple more, break again, then come back for one more segment. Usually they're done 40 minutes into it...

Urlacher's done for the season and Tinoisamoa's out for 3-6 weeks. Let's go Bears in 2010!

With the potential of a good draft class coming through the syustem, 2009 may not be the worst year to have an injury ravaged season.

Except that "Da Bears" traded away their #1 pick in 2010 as part of the Cutler deal.

Goodell disagrees.

NFL reviewed Panthers late hit on Donovan McNabb and determined it to be legal. No fine for the hit will be forthcoming.

Urlacher's injury instantly kills the Bears chances of winning the NFC North. Jay Cutler's piss-poor play doesn't help causes either. Chicago's screwed.

Ah yes. In that case Josh McDaniels is beginning to look like a genius lol!

I think Rodgers will end any lingering doubts when he:

1. Finishes with a winning record

2. Leads his team to the playoffs

3. Appears in (and wins) a SB

I'm not saying he's terrible by any means (I need to say this because in the CCSLC, failure to shower praise on a guy/team means you're hating). He's gonna be a good QB. Possibly really good. But he's got a long ass way before anyone should be attaching "like Favre did" to anything he does.
