Saints number one Patrick Robinson will probably wear #21 as he did in college because Mike Bell had the number in '09 and signed with Seattle..

Nope, the Times-Picayune said he's getting #34 and that's also how he's listed on the roster. Guess McKenzie's gone for good!

Other Saints picks:

Charles Brown - 71

Jimmy Graham - 80

Al Woods, Matt Tennant, Sean Canfield - unassigned

Bell signed with Seattle? I thought he signed with Philadelphia.

Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.

Maybe they have him listed at another position too?

Edgar Jones is #48 and he's listed as an OLB/DE

Plus the only free LB number in the 50s is 57

They can double book numbers through the pre season, unless all of those 50s and 90s guys are sure things to make the team.

Even still, a LB should wear an ineligible number, like Karl Mecklenberg (sp) #77, or Bill Bergey #66.

Imma have to go back and search the interwebs to be sure, but for some reason I seem to remember Julian Peterson wearing the number 44 for a short lil' bit during his time with the Seahawks. If I find a picture, I'll post. I could just be remembering wrong, though.

More Cardinals numbers:

Washington, Daryl - 58

Roberts, Andre - 12

Schofield, O'Brien - 48

Skelton, John - 19

Calvin, Jorrick - 21

Dray, Jim - 81

A lot of Cards fans are already upset that Dray has chosen #81 (Anquan Boldin's old number). I say screw it.

Undrafted player numbers...not that anyone care about undrafted players, but I do.

Max Hall (BYU) - 6

Max Komar (Idaho) - 18

David Moosman (Michigan) - 60

Devin Tyler (Temple) - 61

Alfonso Smith (Kentucky) - 46

Stephen WIlliams (Toledo) - 14

Marshay Green (Miss.) - 30

Casey Knips (SDSU) - 69

Juamorris Stewart (Southern) - 87

AJ Jefferson (Fresno St.) - 20

(MLF) Chicago Cannons,  (IHA) Phoenix Firebirds - 2021 Xtreme Cup Champions

(WAFL) Phoenix Federals - WAFL World Bowl XII Champions (Defunct)

Added the rest of the Saints' picks, who have now been assigned numbers. Robinson didn't get #21 because '09 pick Chip Vaughn, returning from IR, has it. Here are some recent FA signings and guys from last year who went to IR before the season started:

DL Alex Brown (ex-Bear) - 96

DL Jimmy Wilkerson (ex-Buc) - 99

LB Stanley Arnoux ('09 pick) - 53

S Chip Vaughn ('09 pick) - 21

WR Rod Harper ('09 FA) - 13

Recently, yeah, there has definitely been a trend for linebackers to take numbers in the 40s. Tully Banta Cain wore 48 his rookie season, before taking 95 starting with his second.

That dude's name sounds like it belongs in the WWF or something...
