MattF
I've watched 100s of games go into extra time, most of them I don't have a team though. Needless to say I'm horrified right now
rams80
You know, for next the World Cup, we really need to consider attaching shock collars to the players and using them whenever they surrender a goal in the first 10 minutes of a period. The US lacks the offense to completely overcome these mistakes. tBBP
Two halves of regulation time. One half of extra time. And the Yanks STILL keep trying to penetrate right through the middle of the Ghana defense? It ain't worked all game. That Ghana defense has shut them down, especially in that back third. At some point the Yanks got to realize that they should spread the defense out, stretch it out, attack from the sides, set up some crosses, perhaps. Then maybe something might open up in the middle. They could also quit being so lackadaisical and predictable. I'm no soccer expert but even I can predict what the US will do when they get the ball.Ah well...they got right around ten minutes to assert themselves. *Disclaimer: I am not an authoritative expert on stuff...I just do a lot of reading and research and keep in close connect with a bunch of people who are authoritative experts on stuff. || dribbble || Behance ||

tBBP
Looks like the cardiac kids just suffered cardiac arrest. Wellp...it was a good run, Yanks. Not going to sit here and analyze--plenty of you will do that better than I. But it was a decent story, at least. (And at least one person's pick with his head rather than his heart just proved true.) Good story for Ghana, and for the continent of Africa as a whole...for the Yanks, deja vu all over again. But hey--at least they won themselves a new fan (me). *Disclaimer: I am not an authoritative expert on stuff...I just do a lot of reading and research and keep in close connect with a bunch of people who are authoritative experts on stuff. || dribbble || Behance ||

rams80
Things like that ridiculous dive is why the USA wont embrace soccerNo, my issue with soccer is how well the game lends itself to just digging in on defense and by extension, enables teams to go into games with a strategy of "play for the draw." That annoys me. On 8/1/2010 at 4:01 PM, winters in buffalo said: You manage to balance agitation with just enough salient points to keep things interesting. Kind of a low-rent DG_Now.
