Opening kickoff... and the crappy turf already has an effect on the outcome of the play.

Update: But it doesn't slow Rodgers down for long. Wow... even I didn't expect the opening drive to look that easy.

Rodgers: 4/4, 76 yds, 1 rushing TD in the opening drive. If this keeps up, it's going to be a long night for the Bears.

The opinions I express are mine, and mine only. If I am to express them, it is not to say you or anyone else is wrong, and certainly not to say that I am right.

It seems the Bears don't have much more faith in Robbie Gould from long range than I do in Mason Crosby. They've had two fourth-downs from what would have been 48- and 53-yard FG attempts and punted both times.

Wow, the Bears should be absolutely embarrassed right now. Jay Cutler is showing his old form and the rest of the team may not be as bad, but they're just as stagnant. And despite how awful the Bears are playing, they're still only down two scores. Methinks the AFC champs will walk all over the winner of this game.

I believe you should be a true fan to one team in a sport (and a bandwagon fan to anyone playing your rivals).

Why is that? I'm curious to hear your reasoning on the matter.

It's pretty simple actually.

If you have two teams you are "truly" a fan of, who do you root for when they play each other? The fact is, either you actually have loyalty to one team, or you're a very shallow sports fan and just like having your cake and eating it too. IMO, you can't truly appreciate the success of a team as a fan unless you are a true fan. This doesn't mean you're not allowed to align yourself with any or all the teams you want, just my opinion.

Not to mention you can be the fan of a player and follow them on any team or root for teams based on special circumstances (I usually don't like anything from New York but couldn't help from being overjoyed in the Giants victory against the Pats in the Superbowl[a similar joy I'll have for the Jets if they beat the Steelers]).

PS- Didn't realize how many pages went by for me to get this response in LOL. And sorry to disappoint rams80, but no it has nothing to do with LeBron. Grow up.

Oh, and I'm rooting Jets/Packers, only because they are both the lesser of two evils.

Uh-oh... that was just what the Packers didn't need.

And unlike the first pick which was kind of a fluke, that one was clearly on Rodgers.

But now... Todd F'n Collins at QB for the Bears?!?

Update: Surprise, surprise... Collins tosses it right back to Green Bay. The pick was challenged and overturned, but it was still 3-and-out for Collins and company. Apparently Cutler sustained a knee injury.

I've had enough of these ridiculous annual stories about those 4 hosers who have been to every Super Bowl. So they've blown a hundred thousand dollars to get crappy seats to a game better watched on TV, and every year we're expected to...admire them? The point of the publicity is never clear. I guess they're superfans and super rich so we're supposed to care.

It's not even that big an accomplishment to go every year. Show me the guy who's been to every World Series game in the past x amount of years. That's dedication to the sport.

Update: There's no way that call stands. But, anyway, my best friend's bachelor party was a Bears/Panthers game in Charlotte this year. Todd Collins was the QB. It was the worst performance I've ever seen. If Cutler doesn't return, I don't see anyway the Bears can get back into this game. Works for me! Go Pack Go!

See my further update to my last post. It doesn't look good for Cutler to come back.

Caleb Hanie? This reminds me of a game of Madden. I almost half expect the Bears defense to start running away from the ballcarrier.

EDIT: and somehow this kid helps the Bears score their first TD. Wow. What an awful game.

Forney (Texas) High's own Caleb Hanie?!? What's next, Clint Longley?

I've been watching on and off, is Cutler hurt that bad? He's just standing around...

HANIE TO KNOX TO THE 1!! Do you believe in miracles? YES!

Okay, maybe that's a little premature but wow...

Caleb Hanie just probably shot to the top of the Google search ranks.

You have got to be kidding me. Give up a scoring drive to Caleb F'n Hanie? Really?

Rodgers has to get those points back to put the game away. Otherwise I've got a bad feeling about this...

Update: Unless the Bears' D keep shooting themselves in the foot with penalties...
