With Tinker AFB there (Midwest City HS are the Bombers for that reason), it made sense.Fast forward to the Sonics relocating. Considering that the reason the Seattle-based SST program (the basic for the Sonics name) was terminated was because of the results of the testing during Operation Bongo II, which was located in Oklahoma City, the Sonics name made more sense in OKC than it ever did in Seattle.Some folks have brought up natural disasters (Earthquakes, Hurricanes, Tornadoes, etc). IMO these are far different than man-made events.As far as Waco goes, I have a home/road pair of Wizards hockey jerseys many of the locals felt was inappropriate.
