But the point remains.I was talking about how long it took from the Pittsburgh-Cleveland discussion to just full blown Clevejacking.

Sport
They just announced that Joey Votto has torn meniscus in his left knee. Will be out 3-4 weeks. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK.
Kramerica Industries
When did that happen?Yikes. Always hurts to lose, arguably, the best hitter in baseball.
Sport
It must've happened in the St. Louis series. He had some knee trouble a few weeks ago, but if it were truly bothering him he wouldn't have played in the all-star game.

BigBubba
The Orioles are a lot like the Pirates. They, too have a proud history that's been seemingly forgotten by a long stretch of futility. Their run is also a feel-good story, which is why I'm rooting for them to make the playoffs this year (I'm cheering for the Blue Jays first and foremost, of course). If Toronto's out and they're still in it, they'll be the team I'll be cheering for. Nobody cares about your humungous-big signature. Breakwood
Classy move by the Yankees to make a mound visit to allow the Jays to get a replacement hitter up for Bautista.
FiddySicks
I gotta say, so far this season has been really refreshing in terms of teams who could potentially make the playoffs. Nationals, Pirates, Giants, and Reds in the NL would be a fan-freaking-tastic playoffs. Now if only the Yankees team plane would crash on the Lost island for the next decade or so all will be good with the world! Kramerica Industries
They want hitting because they are a top-heavy team that can't hit for crap with Longoria and Joyce on the DL right now. And, honestly, James Shields has been almost exactly what I said he would be this year - not as bad as 2010, not as good as 2011. He's not really a gamechanger - Detroit's roster, as is, is good enough to win the Central.
crashcarson15
Well, that was a very ugly 3-2 win. But I'll take it.Pestano / Perez have been the best 8th/9th inning guys in baseball this year. That doesn't make it any less nerveracking.

But, he missed one game, and then played in every game after that, including the all-star game. It must have been made worse recently. Either way, the Reds are going to have a tight 3 to 4 weeks here. Votto is their only 300 hitter. The lineup has to rally around this and start producing at the plate and the pitchers need to keep pitching as well as they have. The rotation has been very good the last few weeks. Silver lining is that the next 16 games are against sub 500 teams so it's not the worst time for the best player to go down, but it's never a good time. BigBubba
Bautista placed on the 15-day DL with wrist inflammation; Anthony Gose recalled from AAA.
