The fans who stuck around at Fenway sure are getting their moneys worth! Bottom of the 16th inning coming up.

EDIT: And now Darnell McDonald is pitching for the Red Sox in the top of the 17th.

And Chris Davis pitches two innings for the 9-6 win, strikes out 0-for-8 Adrian Gonzalez, and the O's complete the sweep in 17 innings.

the worst helmets design to me is the Jacksonville jaguars hamlets from 1995 to 2012 because you can't see the logo vary wall

It'll be interesting to see what happens in the next few ABs for Pujols. Did he just hit a home run, or is he getting locked in? His two at bats following it didn't do much to suggest he's locked in, but it'll be more telling how he plays the next game.

We hashed out some of my perspective in the other thread, but I will say I was actually beginning to feel bad for him at this point. He cares as much as anybody about his own performance, so even for a jaded fan like myself, it was getting tough to see that pressure grind on him. I'm not exactly rooting for him to start tearing it up, but getting the monkey off his back wasn't so bad.

It is kind of funny that the Rays, Jays, and O's are 1-2-3 in the AL East (with the latter two as the Wild Cards) and they still don't get half the attention as NYY-Bos.

Unfortunately, as long as the standings look the way they do in the AL East right now, all the talk is going to be "what's wrong with NY/Boston" instead of "the Rays, Jays, and Orioles are having great seasons so far." I'd imagine ESPN is in full panic mode right about now.

Well, a couple of comments about that.

Of course NYY and BOS will continue to get attention because of the sizes of their media markets and the team's histories.

It is WAY to early in the season to really talk about who is having a "great" season. The Orioles always tease in April. I could have sworn there was a season recently where they were in first place on Memorial Day and ended up in last place in the division, or something like that. Frankly I'm glad the O's aren't getting attention because if and when (more likely when) they fall flat on their faces, it won't be as embarrassing.

The Rays have been a good team for the last 5 years or so, but they'll continue to get the attention the size of their media market gets them.

No team in the division has the same history and fan base size as NYY and BOS, so it's pretty easy to see why they get all of the attention even when losing.

But it's not "WAY to (sic) early" to talk about who is having a great season so far which is how I wrote it. Not to mention that I also said "Of the three, Baltimore is probably the only one who isn't as likely to keep this up all season." So I stand by what I said. Nice try though.

Nice try on what? I wasn't trying to "prove" you wrong. This isn't an argument. Calm down.

It's still too early to really tell who is going anywhere this season. You must have orgasms when your team starts out 1-0 or 2-0.

"Nice try though" is "arguing?" Man, did you misread that. All I did was point out how you misinterpreted what I said. I think if you go back through this thread, you'll see that I'm hardly the "has orgasms when my team starts 1-0 or 2-0" type. But whatever.

I used to have a problem with his attitude, but Bryce Harper has won me over. He can play, but he plays with an edge. That might just be youthful exuberance and he'll settle down as he gets older and grows more succesful, but right now he is a lot of fun to watch.

How cool was him stealing home?

He strikes me as similar to brett lawrie. A guy who gives it his all on the field but also comes across a bit over the top. He's the kind of guy you love on your team but would not want to actually hang out with them in a non sports setting.

The thing about Bryce Harper that a lot of people fail to remember is that he's only 19. What 19 year old is actually a cool person to hang out with? I like the guy (as a baseball player). He's the perfect definition of a 5 tool player. If he doesn't get hurt, he could end up being the next Willie Mays. Premature, sure. But I really think he has the potential.

And good for Pujols. I wonder what's going to be higher this season. His home run total, or his number.

Wow and the saws thought blowing a 9-0 lead was embarrassing. This even more embarasging

How in God's name is today's game more embarrassing (or embarasging) than blowing the 9-0 lead?

A position player should not be able to win a game against a team like the Red Sox.

In the postgame interview he pretty much said he had no idea what he was doing while he was out there. That adds insult to injury for the Adrian Gonzalez and the Red Sox.
