I mean, they are one game away from a Cup appearance, playing excellent hockey (ex game 4), and they are making the LA hockey fans proud. Unfortunately, when you are in a market with the Lakers, you'll always be second fiddle, especially when you're a hockey team. Hockey will always have a kind of "otherness" to American sports fans, like soccer.

Being 2nd fiddle doesnt make ignorance acceptable. If you report on something you should know the basics. Like the puck is not a ball, for example.

I'm not trying to justify what they did. It's just an unfortunate fact of sports life.

And with that, the Rangers have followed the same routine for all three series they have played so far: W/L/W/L.

That trend was 6.6 seconds away from having another L, as they lost Game 5 vs. Ottawa and were trailing Game 5 vs. Washington, until Brad Richards and Marc Staal saved them. With that, the Battle of the Hudson is a best of three. Maybe the Devils steal the game on the north side of the river, and then Ryan Callahan scores a third period hat trick in Game 6.

One can ponder.

That's the second geographical faux pas I've made in this thread. The first one was as innocent was just typing the wrong word (Pittsburgh in western PA, Philly in eastern, duh), but that's brutal. And I even looked at Google Maps before the series to see how close Prudential Center and MSG were!
