Only ties the Eagles seem to have the Yellow Jackets are those atrocious yellow & blue throwbacks isn't it?

Like its a homage to the original Philly team (being the Yellow Jackets)?

Poor Lions use to be in Portsmouth. If you have never been to Portsmouth, Ohio you aren't missing much. The town is riddled with abandoned early 1900's factories, and the whole place is practically a ghetto. But, the stadium still stands to this day lol.

Sounds like Detroit

Downtown Detroit is quite nice, and Midtown isn't bad either.

The rest of the city though....

Are you talking about the Detroit that's in Michigan? Or is there another one I haven't been to? B)

I think it's more than that. They bought the yellow Jackets "assets", so I think they actually did wear those blue and yellow uniforms for at least a season.

One could make a case that they also took over the Yellow Jackets' "franchise", which had been dormant for a couple of years, but then you're getting into some bizarro Cleveland Deal bullplop.

Don't hold me to this, but if I'm not mistaken the Cleveland Rams date back to 1937 or so. They took a year off during WW II.

1937 is indeed considered the franchise's founding year.

The book "The First 50 Years" has a very cool graphic tracing those early franchises.

I think it's too big for me to scan though. Might be able to take a pic if I can find the book (it's in a box somewhere at the moment).

The city of Pottsville (PA - the place where Yuengling is from) is still trying to get their championship recognized.
