So, I'm going to attempt to break this down going into game 162

American League

AL WEST #1 Los Angeles of Anaheim (Will play Wildcard Winner in ALDS)

AL EAST #2 Baltimore Orioles (Will play AL Central Winner in ALDS)

*Kansas City can do no worse than #1 Wildcard by virtue of it's head-to-head advantage over Oak if the two teams finish with same record and Seattle can't catch Kansas City in wins.

Sunday's games and potential results and positioning:

Tigers win OR Royals loss = Tigers AL Central Champs, Royals host Second Wildcard (Oak or Sea)

Royals win AND Tigers loss = Kansas City @ Detroit on Monday = winner is AL Central Champs, loser hosts (Oak or Sea) in AL Wildcard game Tuesday.

Mariners win AND Athletics loss = Oakland @ Seattle on Monday = winner is second wildcard and would travel to Kansas City. Loser is out.

National League

AL EAST #1 Washington Nationals (Will play NL Wildcard Winner in NLDS)

NL WEST #2 Los Angeles Dodgers (will play NL Central Winner in NLDS)

Sunday's games and potential results and positioning:

Cardinals win OR Pirates loss = Cardinals NL Central Champs, Pirates host San Francisco on Wednesday in NL Wildcard game.

Pirates win AND Cardinals loss = Pittsburgh @ St. Louis on Monday = winner NL Central Champs, loser hosts San Francisco in NL Wildcard game.

So we could have three tiebreakers on Monday:

KC @ DET

PIT @ STL

OAK @ SEA

ESPN will get any tiebreaker games. Might create a bit of an excitable conundrum in the Kansas City Metro area should KC play against Detroit while the Chiefs host the Patriots on Monday Night Football.

What do you guys think about my rant about A-rod ? should he not have been able to play this season with Jeter ?

"Rant" is a little strong of a term.

So we could have three tiebreakers on Monday:

KC @ DET 3:00pm ET (1:00pm ET if there's OAK/SEA game) ESPN

PIT @ STL 7:30pm ET (ESPN2)

OAK @ SEA 4:00pm ET (ESPN)

Here's the game times should any (or all) of these need to be played......

By the way, today's the last Cubs game on WGN, right?
