They'll probably trade Castro and Barney and lose at least 90 games next year. But it's okay. It's part of The Plan. They need billboards first.

Yeah, I don't think losing Barney will have a huge effect on the product itself, but it's a sign that the first wave of rebuilding failed and now they're rebuilding the rebuild. Losing Castro signifies that too, plus the loss of his bat.

What exactly about playing in Denver is so "heartbreaking" for Troy Tulowitzki?

He's the undisputed star of a team playing in one of the best parks in the bigs in which to hit.

Report: Dodgers to pursue Phillies closer Papelbon

...with a bullpen already including Kenley Jansen, Brian Wilson, Brandon League, Chris Perez, and JP Howell.

Watch as this former Phillie flames-out as a Dodger, get shipped or goes himself to another team, then miraculous finds new life on an already-contending team again and then criticizes the Dodgers and their fans for his shortcomings here.*

*yes, I'm referring to that douchelord Shane Victorino

It's heartbreaking that his team isn't giving him a chance to win a championship.

That isn't heart breaking, heart breaking would be making it to the NLCS or World Series multiple times and losing, but he's only been one time and got swept by the Red Sox his rookie season and it wasn't like he carried the team in the playoffs, he was horrible hitting for a .129 AVG

Moves I'd like to see:

Chase Headley to Rangers (move him to first base)

Dan Uggla sign with Giants

David Price to Seattle

Jorge De LA Rosa to Orioles

Troy Tulowitzki to Mariners -OR- stays with Colorado for the rest of the season and in the offseason decides not to stay in Colorado and signs with Baltimore ending J.J. Hardy's tenure as Baltimore's shortstop

But... *sigh* Yankees would need a new shortstop following Derek Jeter's retirement and everyone knows the Yankees can pull some ridiculous amount of money out of their ass and secure him for 8-10 years

Tulo's not a free agent until at least 2020, 2021 with the option.
When did he sign a new contract? I thought he had a contract that ended after this season?

While the Yankees won't be able to grab Tulo on the open market, they are one of the few teams who might not flinch at the $20 mil he's owed each season from 2015 through 2019.

It appears as though Huston Street is headed to Anaheim. From what I've read, it's four Angels prospects for Street and a prospect.

Edit: It's a done deal. Padres get a decent haul in Taylor Lindsey, RJ Alvarez and Jose Rondon. Granted, the Angels' farm isn't good, but these guys all are all pretty highly regarded.

Yeah but what do they have to trade? They have no farm system and a club full of aging veterans. Yeah they can take on the contract, but the Rockies would definitely want players in return, young players big league ready or just about there. Something the Yankees don't have.

Well said. When you combine Tulo's salary and injury history with the Rockies likely desire for a ransom haul a trade to the Yankees and most other teams becomes very unlikely. In my opinion for a deal to actually get done to any team, Tulo is going to have to publicly ask for a trade. Right now the Rockies have all the leverage. Of course someone could get desperate and offer the farm in the next 11 days.

A classic game I'm watching. Cardinals-Dodgers 7/18 LIVE from St. Louis on MLB Network. Both teams are classic, great teams. Potential playoff preview?
