Fear your team will be "Nikeized" ?

If your team is going to change uniforms in the future, Why can't Nike design maybe three different concepts of uniform prototypes, complete with road and home templets, and let the fans vote on the one design that will make most of the fans happy ?

because nike knows that fans will buy what ever they make in all honesty, they aren't too concerned with making everyone happy, they want to show off their tech and innovations, but at the same time the teams have to approve them, and they are the ones that are really responsible for uniforms like the bucs and jaguars, but they are also responsible for the viking that are a very good uniform that got what they wanted.

Agreed, Nike knows people will by stuff just because it has the swoosh on it, including horrible jerseys.

Fans aren't Nike-owned sheep. Read the comments on the Bucs' press release about the uniforms. It's almost universally negative. I would imagine that fans of a team would be the most resistant group of people regarding a uniform change.

I don't really agree with using polls because anyone can vote, including rivals' fans. NFL rules don't allow this, but they should try releasing these things as alternates, similar to the pro combat system in college. If the fans love it, they can vote with their wallets. That's all Nike cares about anyway.

also....

even though some of Nike's jerseys are plain horrible, they pay designers a lot of money to design them, and they often work on them for like 2 years (looking at the teams history, mascot, etc.) so this would be hell for them.

It would also mean they would waste a lot of designs, and if they didn't want to wast designs, then they would be handed to other teams. These teams would practically be getting hand-me-downs from other teams

Also because a lot of fans are stupid. I hate to be that guy but for every fan who expresses disdain about Nike (or Reebok or Adidas or Under Armour) there are a bunch who are either indifferent or willingly latch onto what the manufacturers put out.

Mighty Ducks of Anaheim (CHL - 2018 Orr Cup Champions) Chicago Rivermen (UBA/WBL - 2014, 2015, 2017 Intercontinental Cup Champions)

King's Own Hexham FC (BIP - 2022 Saint's Cup Champions) Portland Explorers (EFL - Elite Bowl XIX Champions) Real San Diego (UPL) Red Bull Seattle (ULL - 2018, 2019, 2020 Gait Cup Champions) Vancouver Huskies (CL)

I disagree with the comment made about how Nike is just a "manufacturer". As a teenager, Nike is universally famous amongst high school and college athletes, as well as the younger. They like the unique designs, hip and fresh designs, etc. Twitter pages are called "Nike Porn" or "Nike Gear". Nike has almost a "god-like" persona amongst the young core. However, for the people that evaluate uniforms in a less immature way, we don't buy into the tricks that gets people attached to Nike.

Which usually means bad.

Then explain Florida State, Oklahoma, Texas, Alabama, Ohio State, Penn State, and many other Nike uniforms. Nike may push the envelop at times with very few teams, but Adidas and UA do the exact same thing.

No one's denying that. At the same time, though, it's foolish to pretend that Nike isn't at the forefront of the trend that is pushing crap and calling it innovation.

like i said those teams like what the looks they have, they have told nike that they just want the uniforms they have, and nike will throw a pro-combat, or rivalry uniform for its big schools as part of a promotion to make more money, but still the school has to approve wearing it, other manufactures do the same thing, but other teams can push back too, like indiana telling adidas they wouldn't wear the zubaz unis from last year.

I have a feeling the Bengals will be changing soon because some Nike prototypes have already been leaked I can't reveal how I know about these...

tiger-costumes.jpg

I like them because they're a completely integrated system of dress with a new design that honors the Bengals' rich tradition while boldly bringing the team into the future through a modern design aesthetic. They incorporate many of the unique historical aspects of bengal tigers and also showcase the city's roots, vibrant culture and spirited fanbase. The new uniform will feature a realistic color scheme honoring the franchise's past and present, while confidently positioning the team for the future.

I really feel that these will set the standard for both design and functionality, and the result will be a sleek, modern design that honors the franchise's past while also establishing a new, bolder identity moving forward. Thank you so much, Nike, for keeping the Bengals on the cutting edge.

I don't know, I just don't like the black for them. It looks like somewhat of an afterthought to me. I guess I don't like how the black is used. If they used it more, or less, I would be fine with it. But not in the way it's used now.

Nike is at the forefront in my mind of sacrificing design quality for the sake of doing something different. Often it horrendous and lacks visual quality. A strong creative director with impeccable design sense would never let 50% of their uniform designs out the door. Says to me that they have a leader that's more interested in new/different and less interested in creating actual quality designs.

I saw nothing at all wrong with this, and it's yet another case of our not appreciating what we had until it was gone:

Barry-Sanders-Runs-Against-the-Washingto

They could've simply updated the logo in the way they ended up doing, but even that wasn't absolutely necessary for this to remain a great look.

As JRB implied, the black looks like it was "added on" rather than "integrated". As a result, it doesn't work at all for me. I think it's one of the worst cases of BFBS that we've seen.
