A problem with boxing is guys, & their handlers more to the point, are so protective of their records, that we don't seem to get many money matchups.

Unlike UFC which continuously pushes guys & girls against one another. Boxing could learn from that.

UFC is a closed system and while better than boxing in that those under contract receive healthcare, there's a possibly they are in violation of US antitrust laws as there are currently three suits filed against them.

And Jon Jones just placed another potential roadblock on the UFC credibility since Jones had previous issues.

Combat sports hurt overall, but UFC head Dana White allowed Anderson Silva to fight after failing multiple PED tests prior to his event date. I love to watch Silva, but the UFC judges morality differently between drugs.

While one can legally smoke marijuana in certain states/nations, just as one can buy HGH legally.

I'm in the camp that appreciates boxing but sees UFC as barbaric. It's dumb, I know.

Can you imagine what it must have been like to be a sports fan in the 50s? The big three were boxing, horse racing and baseball, and you could only follow any of them on the radio and the newspaper. These are charmed days we live in.

You forgot, pro wrestling was still classified as a sport then.

If you knew or not, ESPN2 did air a card tonight against the NBA playoffs, NHL playoffs and NFL draft. It featured a B/B- fighter named Ishe Smith who was on NBC's "The Contender" show a decade ago when he really was talented, on a Mayweather promoted card.

What is their antitrust argument against UFC? It's not like UFC is the only MMA promotion out there. They're just the biggest and best. But there are plenty of options for aspiring fighters. This isn't like football where it's the NFL or nothing in the US.

Why bring it up then if you weren't willing to clarify?

They sold 10,000 tickets to the weigh-in at $10/pop today. Those were also sold on the secondary market for $600.

Teddy Atlas and B-Hop are killing it on ESPN2!

Edit: B-Hop can still fight at 50 & did years in the Bing so he is able to wear those d@mn pants without excessive mocking.

I really hope this is one of those fights that ends after 10 seconds...

There are three currently filed, but I'll just give you two..

The one filed by the fighters

The one filed by Bellator/Viacom regarding Eddie Alvarez.

Cool, now maybe we can move on to sporting events that people actually care about.

Sure seems like people cared about this one.

And it'll be another 20 years till people even remotely give a crap about another boxing match.
