  1. And BBTV said his case for not letting Trout in better than I ever could. Why don’t you argue with him?
  2. Banks played the vast majority of his career in the pre-playoff expansion era. Mike Trout has only played in the wild card, two wild card, and three wild card eras. It’s an entirely different consideration.
  3. So, how about my idea about referees wearing dragon fursuits? They can be far easier to target now, will constantly overheat, and can’t keep up with a play!
  4. I fully agree with this - he is the ultimate “irrelevant superstar.” His loyalty to Moreno has condemned him to never experiencing a moment that truly mattered. Hell, he only played in one playoff series and underperformed in it. He will make the hall of fame on stats alone, but his career will be akin to Chris Paul if he stayed on the Hornets – irrelevant.
  5. If this is the year Gonzaga wins a title, I will eat "Aunt Myrna's Party Cheese Salad."
  6. It’s more a “loss of advantage” than anything else, since the NIL leveled the playing field to a degree and created attractive destinations for players outside of blue bloods who can pay handsomely for players. That and Calipari has lost his touch since 2019.
  7. That will be $33,355,000 to do a buyout if they want to get rid of him. But hey, I’m sure the boosters are more than capable of solving their “can’t adapt to the NIL and experienced mid-majors” problem with a flash of the checkbook.
  8. So, how legit is this source?
  9. The new Texans road kit is a lateral move from their previous set, I’d argue. The font is goofier, but not that crazy and the navy numbers are a bit much. I’ll have to see the whole set for better judgement.
  10. It’s almost like getting rid of Joc Pederson/Gabe Kapler and their tomfoolery immediately improved the atmosphere of the club! This would’ve been a good offseason for that alone, but all the improvements show a substantial investment not seen since the Evans days. It sucks that Brandon Crawford had to leave in the way he did, but he’s genuinely delusional if he thinks he has anything left in the tank (or had, given his last two seasons). Posey had the good sense to quit while he was ahead, while we get Belt and Crawford extending things too far.
  11. After the Steelers’ staff is done with him, his old mindset will resemble ‘90s gold plastic. Unless he’s flat-out cut by the end of training camp, which indeed is a possibility.
  12. Eh, it’s water under the bridge at this point and it seems many of the fans have forgiven him. Holding a grudge against a player for more than 20 years isn’t healthy. If Pittsburgh can honor Jagr, I don’t see why the Raptors shouldn’t eventually honor Carter.
  13. I'm inclined to agree. At worst, this is a stopgap until they can draft their next QB (who could come because of how bad Wilson and Fields can get). At best, these are two guys who can keep the Tomlin dream alive for another year or more. Maybe Russ and Fields together will be beneficial for both of them, especially considering the awful situations both guys left.
  14. Future Cleveland Browns QB, Dak Prescott!
  15. The original logo had a lot more character, but it also had the laughable broken jaw. All one would have to do is correct the jaw on the original.
  16. The recent reboot/sequel to Total Drama Island created some excellent hockey sweater designs for the Snow Owls. It’s like a brighter ‘07 Sharks sweater, without a yoke.
  17. It is, but it’s about as inviting as the judge‘s mansion from Nothing But Trouble.
  18. Yeah, SF Sharks would’ve been good, but the Warriors’ ownership has never really wanted to foster a relationship with the Sharks. There was no partnership to build the SJ arena (when Oracle MK I was showing its age) and no invite into the SF arena (when the Sharks wanted to stupidly flee a serviceable arena). The Sharks are just a stupid organization for not approaching the Warriors, even if the Warriors would turn them down nine times out of ten. At worst, you’re renting the stadium with Sparky the SUV’s cousin occupying the dead space. Fixes inserted - the Bay Area is fundamentally not a “multiple teams per sport” market, no matter how much the demographics support it.
  19. The Broncos franchise after Super Bowl 50 vs. the near-decade since SB50: ->
  20. The Warriors seem pretty hostile to the Sharks in general - did the Warriors even offer to make Chase hockey-compatible for them?
  21. Burgundy and sky blue would be the single-most obvious solution and would've been a far better initial color scheme.
  22. That is very correct. It’s excellent at connecting the further reaches of suburbs to lower downtown (be it the big EMU’s or the smaller EMU’s - which I use mostly), but the actual transit system within the central part of the city is lackluster. The whole system is electrified and uses no EMD F40PH engines, which is pretty neat. I should have some nostalgic attachment to the F40PH’s (as I grew up with Caltrain), but I really don’t.
  23. Those would be the two best sports for Wilson, with contenders and in an explicit backup role. It'd also be funny in both places, crawling back to his old team or his old division rival. I think Russ will sit out a year, though not by choice. Russ still thinks he can be a starter (see the Broncos' win streak last year and his red zone stats), but it'll take a long time away for him to think otherwise.
  24. That reminds me, I really gotta listen to The Killers again.
