  1. It really goes to show how isolated the Seattle sports media is from the rest of the country. If Russ came from anywhere else, his red flags would've been far more prominent in discussion at the onset. However, he won a Super Bowl and went to another (as well as a bunch of playoff appearances), so Seattle fans were the only ones who knew the truth about his play and his issues. Seattle fans being happy to part ways with him should've been a much larger red flag.
  2. I would say the giant William Penn statue, but that's a bit too esoteric. Independence Hall or City Hall (with the Penn statue)? Joking answer: "You don't have beef with me? I was a priest before I got involved with you guys. Unbelievable."
  3. White is a much better choice than vintage white.
  4. At least The Who were genuinely sorrowful after the Cincinnati disaster. Travis just recorded a typically-awful apology video.
  5. Are you sensing another Fowler/scmods/wings dupe?
  6. Don’t worry, Adam Levine and Travis Scott brutally disgraced themselves not long after, the latter in much more horrid fashion.
  7. The easiest way to deal with social media is to ignore it.
  8. The Patriots-level cliff dive isn’t here yet, if only because they still have some big star power. Klay will probably re-sign, albeit for less than he asked for and Draymond will hopefully exit before he goes full Akira Maeda and makes the franchise more liable for BS. If the Warriors mess up their draft and their offseason by getting older and more injured, then the Pats-level cliff is coming fast. Kerr retiring might be a good call too.
  9. That's the one. Jon Bois wrote a piece on it. A Secret Base on the post-1985 Bears would be a fantastic piece, of how the historically-mediocre can become truly terrible.
  10. It’s ridiculous how quickly the Texans have turned it around so far. I say “so far” because they could always turn into a pumpkin next season and be right back in the rebuild zone. It’s weird that the Bears still finished better than several teams, especially with all the mayhem at the start of the season. Is this the season that truly made them a “perma-bad” team, like the Panthers are now and the Lions used to be?
  11. Also, because it would’ve come up way more if the Ravens won, anything and everything involving Trey Lance. Not that Trey Lance was anything beyond a backup in Dallas, but still. Only Zombie Deadspin would really take that bait, and who looks at ZD other than to gawk?
  12. I wanted the Texans to win the AFC, if only to troll as many teams as possible (Browns, Panthers, Titans, technically the Jags, etc.).
  13. IDK, the white/gold/white looks better than black/white/black. Black/purple/black would be my preferred striping pattern, to maintain the iridescent style.
  14. And, if you discount two seasons (2000 and 2012), the Ravens have had a similar playoff futility.
  15. The Niners being able to stage a comeback is a strange development, especially when they were so outclassed in the first half. The Lions could really have had them beat if not for being overly aggressive on 4th down and making some inopportune blunders of a more mundane nature. I look forward to seeing where the Lions go from here. But for now, it's on to KC in Vegas.
  16. Kansas City vs. Baltimore Detroit vs. San Francisco
  17. Even Washington INDEPENDENT baseball team would’ve been better.
  18. I’d prefer a balance of the modern and classic jag, or the classic jag without a broken jaw making it look “goofy.”
  19. The Marlins reveal makes me wish management brought back the home run sculpture rather than letting it rot outside the stadium.
  20. The Bucks really wanted to screw up the good/passable thing they had going, didn’t they?
  21. I've got a take hotter than yours: Replace the "G" cap with an appropriate W design and you've got a better look than any design the Nationals have trotted out. Yes, even with the '30s/'40s-style shoulder-placket combo stripe.
  22. Obvious follow-up: Larry Pfohl being this bored and checked-out is hilarious when paired with the song. It’s almost endearing that he rejected the angle so thoroughly.
