  1. Out of all the space/NASA/sci-fi fonts they could have picked, they pick the one that won't be that legible on the football field. Yikes. It's also been echoed earlier, but I would agree with the sentiment that the space-themed alternate craze in college football has run its course. It was cool when UCF did it each year, but then everyone else hopped on the bandwagon for reasons, and now everything is blurring together. Nothing really feels original about it anymore.
  2. It certainly would have made this shirt better, but it wouldn't have excused the fact that it's still terrible. The USA needs something much more original.
  3. Believe it or not, it's not the first time Houston has done this. Their black alternates are the same way. May be why they did it for the reds. UTEP went the same route last week as well, albeit with their orange helmets:
  4. Name is weird, but that logo and color scheme is fantastic! Never knew that a fleur-de-lis could so smoothly transition into an F. Brilliant design there.
  5. This Duquesne player is making the rounds on social media for his undershirt. It's the same color as the pants, making it look like he has mid-chest breezers on. Admittedly, its worse looking on TV than it is here, but it's a problem that doesn't look like its going to be slowing down anytime soon.
  6. Pro: Northwestern's new uniforms look really good. The classic look fits them well. Con: Of course they go all-grape for the first game. With an Ireland themed helmet to boot, which would've looked better with white pants.
  7. On the one hand, I'm glad that retaining city editions from year to year is becoming a bit more common, albeit still not even close to being common enough. On the other, I don't like this set, probably one of my least favorite from the mixtape editions last year.
  8. Not a fan of this decision. This is one of the weaker alternate jerseys in the NHL imo. Reeks of mid-2000s Reebok Edge.
  9. This is giving me the same vibe as the catalogue t-shirts that Nike/Adidas make for college or high school sports teams. I respect the fact that Puma is trying some new ideas this year along with their new template, but they don't seem to be as good as they thought it would be.
  10. Minnesota Golden Gophers P.J. Flecks. Same thing happened at Western Michigan while he was there. Just a total lack of consistency and an overreliance on "cool" aesthetics that don't blend with the college's branding. Before: After:
  11. Gradients are making their way into D1 FCS football, courtesy of the North Carolina A&T Aggies. Woof. Could look a lot worse, but I'm not going to give this thing any credit for looking good, because it doesn't.
  12. KaVontae Turpin is taking the undershirt trend to a whole *lower* level. It may not be long before we see mini-skirts in the NFL. I really don't get this trend other than it just "looking cool" (which it doesn't).
  13. These illustrations look like they are straight out of a bad 90's children's book.
  14. I'll be honest, the jersey looks worse each time I see it. The long sleeve version looks like a crappy cold weather warm-up jersey.
  15. I have always thought that these uniforms were one of college football's best/most underrated looks. Don't know if it's the better than usual utilization of gray, or if the Vols orange just goes well with a darker shade, but it really works, especially the two-tone design between the torso and sleeves. Interested to see what other designs they will come up with. Hopefully they don't start overdoing it.
  16. After the last few years with crazy alternates, this is a nice change of pace for the Huskers. We need to bring the striped pants back full time, it's a much better look.
  17. Looks like Broncos/Cowboys might be color vs color. Cowboys are warming up in navy, Broncos in orange. How often do we see this in preseason?
  18. New thirds for Manchester United made their debut today against Brentford... I hope these things are burned and never seen again, especially after that embarrassment of a loss. Can hardly make out where the players are on the field.
  19. Actually, I think Green Bay dropped red a couple of years back. Colors are more green/white/silver now.
  20. I don't think there is an official requirement per say, as far as I know, but I wouldn't be surprised if the NFL pushes teams to wear alternates for money reasons. Probably why the Rams will keep it around, for now. Hoping for an accurate throwback next year with the new helmet rule.
  21. This was the best look in bone, yes, but it still wasn't good. The thing that has always confused me was the willingness to include white on the uniform too. It throws off the entire look, and doesn't fit the aesthetic the Rams are seemingly going for. Plus, it is almost invisible on the bone background.
  22. Fashion or something like that. Which is marketing-speak for there's really no good reason.
  23. Hope it won't be Nike, for the sake of variety and sanity. But it's going to be Nike.
  24. This might be an unpopular opinion, but I'm not really digging these. I think it's the heavy white on gold that does it. It's hard to look at IMO. Design is nice, but it needs more navy or green.
  25. Cringey overmarketing aside, it's a neat look. Did just enough with it to stand out from the way too many new black helmets with the red flake and logo details, and it still somewhat fits with the Color Rush uniforms (it won't work with the basic black alternates). Not really wowed though. I think I've been worn down from all of the black helmets we have received this offseason.
