  1. And now onto the Cubbies! The home stays true to the classic Cubs look, with the emblem from 1957-78 on the chest and the cub used between 1979-93 on the sleeve. The home gets a red name and number with white outlines, and for the road, the arched script from 1943-56 can be found, along with shadow pinstripes. The road alternate also uses the arched and underlined script, along with shadow pinstripes. The alternate features light blue with red Wrigleyville script, names + number and MLB logo, inspired by the flag of Chicago. The municipal device with four red stars can be found on the left sleeve, and on the right is the Wrigley Field patch, recoloured with the Ivy Green, and a cub replacing the current Cubs logo. The shirt and trousers have tonal pinstripes, and trim inspired by the flag of Chicago. So thats the Cubs. Next, it's the South Side!
  2. Thanks. I might go back and add a couple of more uniforms to the O's sets, I think an Orange jersey would be a welcome addition. Cheers. For me, The Irons also come to mind when Hammers is mentioned too. So onto the Hornets Nest we go...... The colour scheme I've gone for the Knights is violet and gold, a fitting scheme for the Mint and Queen City. The Cap logo, chest logo, shoulder logos and outstep stirrup logo are all taken from the Caballeros rebrand, as I preferred that look to the wordmarks the team debuted in 2014. On the inside of the baselayer is the phrase KNIGHTS OF THE MINT CITY in Cooldnes, the same font used for the names and numbers too. The road base colour is a gray with a subtle violet tint. So, the actual design. I decided on a yoke, as I wanted the Knights to have a unique look in MLB and for the uniforms to have some sort of feature that brought to mind armour. The alternate has gold pinstripes on a violet base and an all violet cap. And a home alternate with pinstripes and a recoloured current Knights wordmark, with a Hornets Nest on the inside of the baselayer. This would be worn for weekend home games and might end up as the full time home if the yoked look goes down like a fart in a lift. So thats the Charlotte Knights. Their current colours aren't bad, but they were modelled on the White Sox and if Charlotte does get an MLB Franchise, a change of colour is likely. And for me, the royal colours of Violet and Gold are fitting for a team from the Queen City. Next, it's the City of Broad Shoulders and the neighbourhood of Lakeland.
  3. I think the wordmarks look excellent, they have a distinct look from the rest of the MLB and they also recall the Ybor City signage. And green + columbia blue is a colour scheme the Rays should try.
  4. The aspect of the Oilers jersey that is most tied to a time period design wise is the logo with it's very 1970s font, and I see no calls to change that. And for good reason, that logo is wonderful.
  5. Lille won the French League and Cup double in 2010-11, and that season they wore a pretty plain shirt that used the same design as the Manchester City away shirt from a season earlier.
  6. Use the 1979 cap and the white shoes on the tweaked uniform for better colour balance for the pink and green, and also because it's a white panelled hat and white shoes and those do look good. I think changing the belt to either gold or white would help too. Also, pink and green are totally San Diego colours, the new NWSL team has gone for those colours too.
  7. I agree, the TBtC script is the best of a set of wordmarks that are either badly dated or lackluster and the team could really do with a new set, though the TB cap logo from the same set wasn't bad, even if it did have the same representation of the Trop in the lowercase b. Personally, I would go for a wordmark that took inspiration from the signage in Ybor City for a wordmark that not only connected to Tampa (and the place they should play a lot closer to), but was distinct and easily recognisable. A script inspired by either of those signs would be pretty cool.
  8. And we now move onto the Red Sox! The home and road bring back Dark Blue baselayers, and the home sees a return of the hooped stirrups to the uniform for better colour balance. The headspoon now has additional red piping around the neck, and the piping can be found on the sleeves and pants. On the inside of the baselayer in a stencil script is the wording "Boston Strong", and on the sleeve a pair of Red Stockings can be found. For the road, the headspoon, sleeve and pants piping from the home is present, and the stirrups have a Dark Blue band sandwitched between the road Gray. For the alternates, the Dark Blue becomes the home and the Red becomes the road. The home has a Red baselayer and White trim in for better colour balance when used with the hooped stirrups, and the road alt has stirrups that echo the trim on the shirt. And for special occasions, a fauxback of sorts in Cream and Red, sans blue. The socks are from the 1912 team (first season in Fenway Park plus World Series victory), the cap and helmet logo is from 1936 (first appearance of a Tuscan B and the script is from the 1930 road uniform (first appearance of Tuscan Script). The piping is present, but the same cream colour as the base. So thats the Red Sox. Up next, a trip to the Queen City! C+C would be cool.
  9. I like the design for the Tampa Bay Rays, but not sold on that retro script, as it is 1 - a blatant rip-off of the San Diego Padres wordmark from the 70's and it has 2 -a representation of the roof of the Tropicana Dome, I doubt the fans want a reminder of that white elephant on the jerseys. The Blue Jays set is really good, but have to ask why the road has a black outline around the wordmark, it sticks out like a sore thumb on the set.
  10. Toon fan here. The home isn't bad, but it's let down by the large black panel on the back which breaks up the stripes. It would look better with unbroken stripes and red numbers with a white outline - The Toon wore red numbers on their home shirts for many seasons and they were brought back in 2017. Also I would rather the Fun88 logo wasn't there, but if it has to be there, it would be nice if it was the same colour as the banner displaying the club name on the crest. And also try and match the width of the sock hoops with the width of the shirt stripes and with the position of the swoosh and the crest the same as the other two kits. The change has a pretty nice design, but the colours are pretty much the same as the change from 2015-16 and Newcastle went down that season. Try the same design, but in the colours of the 1992-93 change. Newcastle were one of the first English teams to adopt the colours of the Brazilian national team and even though it would be really popular, yellow and green hasn't come back as the change for some reason. The third has a recycled pattern from the 2014 Netherlands away shirt and the colours aren't all that nice. Two shades of royal or sky blue would be nicer. IRL, a change from Castore to Nike would likely step down in design, as the last set that Castore did was nicer than what Nike probably could have come up with and despite quality control problems, the new home shirt is really nice.
  11. Celtic have released their new home uniform, it's got the adidas stripes in silver and a "subtle" pattern on the shirt hoops.
  12. It's a shame the stripe on the sleeve of the Halos shirt is obscured by the Padres player, as it's one of the most distinct and original things about it. And speaking of San Diego, are you sure thats the right colour baselayer? In the promo shoot, Joe Musgrove was wearing a gold baselayer, matching the cuffs.
  13. Sadly Venezia never enlisted Piero Gratton to design an emblem, I'd bet it would have been as timeless as the ones he did for Roma, Pescara and Bari.
  14. The first set looks the nicest. No grey is the way to go. Have you tried putting the mountain pattern on the pants and stockings too?
  15. The San Diego uniform is pretty nice except for the hats and helmet, which do look pretty bland just being one colour. My ranking of the CCs - Unranked - Miami and Angels I dont feel I can really lump the two in with all the rest, as one is a tribute to a team from Havana and the other takes little inspiration from the actual city the team has been based in since the 1960s, so in my view, those two teams are outlayers. So, for the other dozen, here is my ranking Arizona Diamondbacks - They finally have a script logo that is on a level with their wonderful A and db Snakehead logos, and the colour combination looks really nice and very Southwestern. Chicago White Sox - Love the Southside script and the Greystone texture. Houston Astros - The gradient and the Space City script look awesome, and the Hat logo caps it off nicely. Washington Nationals - Love the colours and the shirt and socks pattern. Kansas City Royals - Nice colour choices and the fountain inspired KC is great. San Francisco Giants - Like the creativity and the image of the Golden Gate bridge on the sleeves. Milwaukee Brewers - The Blue and the grill are both great, but the MKE/414 cap logo really lets this one down, falling between two stools. If it came with the Beer Barrel Dude or the BiG on the cap, this one would have ranked higher. San Diego Padres - Like the Brew Crew uniform, this is let down by it's cap. In this case, the cap looks pretty lazy and upsets the colour balance, which is a shame because the rest of the uniform is really nice. Boston Red Sox - I like the idea, but for some reason I can't put my finger on, it hasn't clicked for me. I do like the stencilled Boston font on the front though. Chicago Cubs - There isn't anything really wrong with it, just that it feels far less than the sum of it's parts. The Respect Our Neighbourhood tag, the municipal device sleeve patch and the Wrigleyville script are all nice, but for some reason, the end result just feels a bit lacking. Colorado Rockies - I like the idea, but the purple clashes horribly with the green and the cap logo looks awful. Los Angeles Dodgers - This one looks as half assed as Rigby from Regular Show. The design is uninspiring and the Los Dodgers script on the caps looks woeful. So out of 14 teams, we got good to great unforms for 8 of them(Diamondbacks, White Sox, Astros Miami, Angels, Nats, Royals and Giants), 2 that could have been up there with better caps (Padres and the Brew Crew), 3 that had good ideas but just failed to pull them off (Boston, Rockies and Cubs) and the uniform for LA. That's a pretty good record in my book.
  16. The Tricky Trees will look great at home on their Prem return in their new first kit, the pattern on the shirts is top notch and two shades of Red really works for Forest. The Toffees have a shirt with a really nice pattern on it, but its let down by those large white panels on the sides of the shirt which really stick out.
  17. New Pumas UNAM Jerseys for 2022-23. The home has a shoulder pattern that was described by the Footyheadlines site as Subtle. And another launch for a team from Mexico City supplied by Nike, America home and away.
  18. Strickly speaking, the RB in RB Leipzig stands for RasenBall (Lawnball) and German teams have the name of the team on the back of the shirt, but we all know what RB really stands for in that team name. With the MLS Red Bulls, it's considered a word mark and not a sponsor.
  19. The Blues and Sharks are probably the best in the series so far alongside New York Rangers, Both are really good. The New York Rangers and Wild also have good promotional images, many of the ones for the other teams just look cheap or afterthoughts. The worst here are Boston, The Bruins just look wrong in the same colours as The Habs, The Kings uses a main logo based off signage of the main pier in a different city and The Sens is Cop Connect as opposed to City Connect. The Anaheim outfit looks really good, but having a different city as a background when you are doing a City Connect just looks sloppy and Bush League beyond belief. Dude, go back and change it to a picture of Disneyland, like the actual building the colourway is based on.
  20. Cheers, The Diamondbacks emblem is and does, two shades of deep red/Arizona Turquoise and a copper that works with both of those shades it pops, with three colours it absolutely pops. I added two additional colourways, the Arizona Turquoise, Sedona Red and Copper Kettle is my fave. With the Atlanta Diamond, I was trying to get the Hammer to work as the T in ATL, eventually I gave up and just put the founation date of the team in Boston on there. I think it worked out OK. On to the next team, we have The Birds. All of the caps and helmets for the Orioles have the cartoon bird on them, as for me, it's the Alpha and Omega of all the cap emblems the team have worn. For the shoulder patch, I decided to show some love to the 2002-03 alternate logo, and I also gave the stanced bird an O's cap. On the inside of the baselayer, the realistic bird from '98 can be found. The home and away use the Orange shade used between 1954-65, with the home having trim resembling the 1966 World Series winning team. The order of the trim is reversed on the change in order to keep the Gray separate from the Orange. The home has the classic white fronted panel hat, while the road gets a black cap with an orange bill. The birds go sleeveless for the home alternate, with a Orange sleeveless shirt with Black and White piping, and the The road alternate has the Orange front panel hat from 1976 make its comeback, and keeps the Orange and Black look with the addition of headspoon pinstripe piping and the name of the city on the front. And a pair of black pants. So that's the O's. Next up, we go to The City on a Hill. C&C would be cool.
  21. As a fan of The Toon, that shirt makes me sick. Not just that it's in the Saudi colours, but the recoloured crest and the 130 Years script on the back which looks like an afterthought. Also following the lead of Barcelona, Bayern are going to release a kit with the Olympic Colours, for the 50 year anniversary of the Olympiastadion, though considering it's a venue with a running track it wasn't that great of a venue and Bayern only really started dominating German football when they left for the Allianz.
  22. Gray, Silver and Navy isn't the easiest colour combo to get to work, but it really works on the home and the choice of a resonator for the pattern is an inspired one. The away shirt is brilliant. Only thing I would suggest is some Violet trim on the shorts and maybe some patches.
  23. The crest doesn't look all that nice just monochrome and the cuff trim should be on the collar as well (and considering those colours are the ones found on the medal ribbons, wouldn't the collar be the obvious place to put them?), but the gold with the map of Barcelona is just beautiful.
