  1. I thought they were pretty up front that they were looking at 3-5 years before being profitable. $60M sounds like a lot, but we don't know what the expectation was - just that it wasn't possible to be profitable in year one.
  2. It wouldn't be allowed, but North Jersey would be a better home for a team than any of the non-Seattle suggestions made in this thread (including the ones in your post.)
  3. That's how OL and some DL (and even skill position) jerseys used to be, so that they stayed tucked with all the pulling and tugging that went on. https://thumbs.worthpoint.com/zoom/images1/1/1120/02/vtg-1950s-antique-champion-durene_1_78cf4f9a29d77980684e65f817434408.jpg
  4. here's an example of the slight difference in NOB font that only one of us would notice. Also the color difference. I don't doubt that the color formula is the same, but the materials/lighting will make the new version look more "kelly", whereas the jersey it's modeled after appeared a little darker. I have a (rare) authentic from that era (Russel) and it definitely is darker.
  5. Word on the street is Suzi Kolber is next. That would break my heart.
  6. The question, even this early, is - will they be able to keep him? Or is this another situation of a team developing a potential star just for some other team to reap the benefits. I hope they can keep him - baseball is more interesting when more teams are in the mix. Also can't wait to see Christian Encarnacion-Strand's jersey.
  7. "The nation is taking notice"? Of what? Renaissance of existing communities? They're making the stadium out to do everything other than cure cancer. I really hate these fake domes. The "shaded canopy" is going to make the games look indoors, especially since it's completely enclosed. Say what you want about the Jags, but their games always have great natural light that bring out the best of the uniforms. It's really annoying how the same tired "point" (that's not really a point) gets made whenever an athlete gets suspended for being a complete idiot. Lifetime bans for betting on your own league seems more than fair, considering what the leagues have to lose. And the players are already benefiting from the gambling partnerships because that's REVENUE. They're just stupid... but they get hit in the head for a living, so... The only thing I can understand questioning is why it's ok to bet on other sports as long as it's not done from within the team facility, but if you pull out your phone and bet on a baseball game from within the team offices, that's a violation. I definitely understand why that's flying a little too close to the sun, but I can understand arguments against that part of the rule.
  8. Has there been any interest from Vancouver in giving it another go?
  9. Least-surprising news ever. I doubt they even got much of an insurance policy on his contract given his history. If I was a legit MLB pitching prospect, I'd get voluntary TJ surgery at 19 or 20 just to get it out of the way.
  10. Access to The style guides would probably make counterfeiting even more rampant and harder to detect.
  11. I don't think dynamic logos should be inhibited by stripes. If it's charging forward,, the stripe acts like a wall it'll bang in to. That might sound silly, but it's a guideline I follow. It's also one of the reasons why the only way the Broncos can have a stripe is if it tapers in the front so the cyberhorses can charge through it. It's not a rule because there's exceptions. Most white helmets need stripes, and I kinda look at the Bills charging buffalo as a static logo rather than a dynamic one, but that's admittedly totally arbitrary. The Ravens should drop their stripes ,but they're purple and hardly noticeable so the bird heard can fly over it.
  12. I can't tell if New York New York is in that shot, but it would be ironic if the team with the New York skyline visible from its park isn't a New York team.
  13. Did he say "we want to make sure we explore all options before ... we consider whether to relocate"? Haven't they been doing that for the past 10 years? What option hasn't been explored?
  14. Yeah, the real EDP was technically never charged, arrested, or convicted of being a pedophile (though that doesn't mean he's not... just not in the eyes of the law.)
  15. Why does the decal have a shadow? Look at the very bottom. Is it peeling off?
  16. Yeah a good way to build a local fan base is to time your games so none of them can actually attend. I get the desire to cater to tourists, but no tourist who’s not a fan of the road team is going to attend a game there. It would be the ultimate admission that a team exists solely for visitors to see. Money being equal, why on earth would any player want to sign there, except to play where they’d never be booed by their own fans?
  17. It's one of the more baffling posts I've read in recent weeks, and that includes one where a guy told someone to essentially have intimate relations with a poster of Lebron James.
  18. New ownership can cure a lot of things. In many orgs, the owner is synonymous with the team, so ill will against the team just kinda goes away with a change in leadership. But that process takes time - even if an ownership group emerged at this very second, it's a process to get through all the vetting and financial gymnastics to get it done - at which point they've been in the Coliseum for even longer, and then have to start working on these new projects from practically scratch. So I think you're right, I just think it's too late.
  19. Your lawyers will love that plan. Neither will the legitimate designers, who would be asking to 1) basically do work for a billion-dollar team for free, and 2) put material out into the universe that will inevitably be ripped off.
  20. edit: never mind. Upon further inspection, the logos aren’t close at lol. It looks kinda similar to the Rusty logo https://seeklogo.com/vector-logo/120881/rusty https://us.rusty.com
  21. Home should be black purple black purple. Maybe it’s because I vividly recall their first season, but that’s “their” look to me, and they should be a dark team (but bbbb is two bs too much).
  22. What’s the big arch thing over the stadium? Doesn’t seem like part of the retractable roof. Are they still doing the clear roof like the Rams stadium has? I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen a retractable roof that uses those types of panels. also, from the article, Mark Davis opposes the move and may have some sway. So this is still far from done.
