So instead of only going their for a ballgame, it would feature restaurants, shops and probably living spaces that would make it more of a destination. Exactly, they’re looking in the direction of what the Braves have done. Tampa proper might be the preferable location, but if St Pete cooperating keeps the team in the Tampa Bay area, then so be it. who do you think
Tropicana Field isn't in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico, it's right off of 275 in downtown St. Pete. Not ideal, but nearly as much of a hassle as Glendale or Sunrise. This new hipster fantasy that the team would suddenly become a local institution and pack the house if they were in downtown Tampa instead is just that. If you want attendance to become somewhat respectable, rig the schedule so that the Red Sox, Yankees, Mets, and Phillies are the only visiting teams coming through. GhostOfNormMacdonald
Attendance would improve in a better location because even if they don't get consistent Yankees and Redsox numbers, you're allowing more casual fans easier access to just randomly go downtown to burn a Sunday. Making your stadium a go to destination and expirience goes a long way to getting asses in seats

FiddySicks
Good. Honestly? the A’s. If ownership is going to be this shameless about begging cities to pay for the majority of their toy while also keeping all of the profits, then they can kick rocks. Best solution for the A’s at this point? Contract them. Make it a Browns style deal where they can come back as an expansion team if someone else has the better financial ability to do so. If not? Relegate them to the past. 2 1 Quote On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) Can't just be one team. 3 Quote https://dribbble.com/MakaioCall

I've always thought they should have moved the Rays to Miami so that they'd get a new stadium and Miami would finally get a well-run, always-contending team. But there is no way contraction will ever happen, so they would've just been relocated. Quote https://dribbble.com/MakaioCall

A MLB club splitting home games between Tampa Bay & Miami always seemed to make more sense than the ridiculous Montreal-Tampa shared team proposal. Not a splitting between the cities, just simply relocating the Rays to Miami. Quote https://dribbble.com/MakaioCall

tigerslionspistonshabs
As much as I'd hate to see them leave, it seems like the city of Oakland is and has forever been so incompetent. It might be best to move on. 1
