It bugs me too. I wish they would ditch the white helmets and pants or do an all white look for a game. I just wish the purple jerseys were the primary home jerseys as they are the superior look with the yellow helmets and pants.

I mean I get tradition and all, but I totally agree that the purple jerseys are really nice. I feel like it’s similar to the Cowboys too though. They always wear their white jerseys as well, but their navy jerseys are beautiful.

Weird development for Georgia’s upcoming game against Tennessee. It appears they are wearing the old Vapor Untouchable template despite updating to the new template this year. It’s unclear if this is for all players or just a few, but I’ve seen at least 3 players wearing the old template (and haven’t seen a clear shot of a player wearing the new template). Perhaps they packed the wrong jerseys, but you’d think the EQ team would be all over that.

Edit - further confirmation.

I asked this on one of the Georgia football message boards and was told apparently they’ve had issues with the red collar on the new template white jersey bleeding into the white causing discoloration and giving the jersey a pink hue. I haven’t seen that myself but maybe they’ve had to work extra hard to keep them white. They wore the new white all season up until Tennessee, and most recently against Florida. I can’t see any pink here but it’s hard to say.

Navy should have just gone with the logo on the left side of the helmet for both sides. Instead we get this:

My best of Week 12:

Long live color v color in rivalry games

11-18-23_USCvsUCLA_FB_BrooksTaylor-6117-

A clean and highly-contrasting matchup

A rare time where I loved OSU's combo!

And the stinker...Rutgers, you are playing the team famous for wearing the same home uniform for centuries, so why would you choose nothing but white and black to matchup with the stadium infamous for wearing white and dark blue? So many Big Ten members wear red, so avoiding it makes sense in many cases. This is NOT one of them.

Ehhhh. I can see the logic behind your reasons here, but I wouldn't say this is a "stinker" or otherwise bad-looking game: There is no monochrome at all, so that's a huge plus to start. And black is technically one of Rutgers' colors. Plus, this was played in bright sunlight, so even from far away, the difference between black and navy is pretty clear. And the red is prominent enough (logos and numbers, as opposed to just outlines or some other smaller application) to add that much more contrast. I would argue that a game like Kansas/K State looked worse because Kansas wore predominantly non-school-color monochrome uniforms (after dark).

Edit: Just to be clear, I understand that this is your best-of list (and to a larger extent, all of this is opinion-based), so my response is just that: a response. That's not to dunk on your list. As a matter of fact, I appreciate the effort of including pictures!

Checking this one off of the Bucket List this year; attending the game as one of my former players is a senior at Navy.  Going to be amazing.

I like what Navy did here.  That left side helmet logo would’ve been amazing on both sides, but I don’t think anything is bad with the final design.

Excited to see what Army unveils.  My Father, Uncle and Grandfather were all drafted and served in the Army, so I’ll be there rooting for Michael, but in my heart, for my family.  BEAT NAVY!

This got me thinking: While I like color vs. color as much as the next person (as long as there's enough contrast), USC/UCLA feel more "right" than others to be color vs. color in a major rivalry game because of the game's location. While this game was played at USC's home field, both teams call LA home. It would be odd to me if Ohio State wore red in Ann Arbor, for instance. And then on the other side of that statement, if a rivalry game were played at a neutral site every year, then by all means, both teams should wear their color/home jerseys. (Though the only consistent example of that that I can think of is Army/Navy, and there wouldn't be enough contrast there with their regular home jerseys.)

Since I was attached to 3ID in Iraq, I'll definitely be getting this jersey! It's beautiful. Also, some of the promotional photos look like they were taken at Fort Irwin, NTC, one of my favorite assignments in the Army. It's disappointing they'll still use the previous Nike template for fan jerseys, but it's not that big a deal. Fort Benning, now Fort Moore,  actually has it's own football team as well named the Doughboys. They traditionally play an exhibition game against Columbus State (GA) every year, and have also played the Marines in arena football games.

Ok, these really look awesome.🤩  For example, I adore their games because I am a gambler who like to bet and play games of chance. So I read analyses of football teams and of sites with different bonuses and odds. One of them is about free signup bonus no deposit mobile casino NZ that offers a wide range of reviews by experts who tell about where to obtain no deposit bonus NZ 2023. Therefore, I keep my fingers crossed every time this team play, if you know what I mean)

THE THIRD HERD!!!

I ain't splurging on sports gear anymore, but I will DEFINITELY support those who choose to cop this. From my time at Benn--um, Moore, working with the 3d Herd I gained some deep connections.

And at any rate, GO ARMY—BEAT NAVY!

Airbrushed helmets need to die a quick death... not a single one has ever looked good.

Navy's throwbacks and the Maryland flag helmets were good. But the idea that the designs have to look realistic rather than something closer to the design of Navy's regular logos takes away from otherwise good looks.

Nike's done good work with their designs though:

Nike using wraps to create texture is wildly different than Under Armour trying to implement a full scenic illustration.  Nike's approach compounds the minor graphic detail on the helmet, which adds character to the uniform that the tiny decal isn't able to provide on its own, while UA's helmets never translate well when you're viewing from more than 3 feet away and have this "painted commemorative plate sitting on your grandmother's shelf" aesthetic that is truly repugnant.

Agree, Most of these are just too busy. Maybe if they kept them symmetrical.

I believe this is the first time the Ducks have ever gone green/green/white. They’ve gone white/green/white a handful of times (including each of the last two years), but never green/green/white as far as I’m aware. Also, while I’m still expecting a color vs. color game, this prevents it from being a full Color Rush-style game with all-green vs. all-orange like the last two years.
