My gripe with the italicized star is that it feels kind of unbalanced when distorted like that. It just plays a bit of a trick on my eye and kind of annoys me. It’s a nit pick, no doubt. The newer star is really well balanced (despite the missing side), and I just think is more clever and looks more refined to me. It’s more a suggestion of movement, which I get isn’t for everyone, but I love it. It’s pleasing in its simplicity, imo. It’s a really basic logo, but says a lot, I think. I dunno, I’m weird. 4 Quote On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.)

That's a stretch, especially now that there are so many contenders for that crown. They're worse when worn with the black pants. Like all Cash Grab Connects, they're weirdly popular, but still unnecessary.

I would contend the Orioles' City Connects actually look worse with the white pants. The white makes the uniform look like a run of the mill alternate, which to me sort of defeats the purpose of the City Connect program. 1
Bmac
Is that the Cubs number font?! Seems like a western style number font would've worked better. This one doesn't gel with the front lettering. 2 Quote https://www.behance.net/bmatukewic8043

Given that the purpose of the Cash Grab Connect program is to, you know, grab cash, and given that retail customers almost about never buy pants, I think the only reason Nike is obsessed with dark monochrome kits for MLB is because that's what the "designers" who come up with this stuff are used to in basketball...and these "designers" clearly are washouts from the Nike NBA division. Man are they crappy, every patch and every letter is horrible. Huge white block letters on the front...... unreal!

Sport
This weekend was my first time seeing the Marlins updated uniforms since they fixed the illegible black on black. Improvement, but I think blue numbers with a white outline would've looked a lot better and given more color from a distance. On the TV angle they just looked like a black and white team.
Digby
Saw someone wearing the AL version of the All-Star hat yesterday and was not prepared for how much brighter it was in real life. Like, we are talking serious day-glo here, especially as they're new out of the box. Color was also more of a neon coral/pink than I would have expected. I saw them at the Tropicana Field team store over the weekend and they are BRIGHT. Hunters could wear the hat in the forest and be seen from a mile away.

For whatever reason, Nike didn't narrow the plackets on the retail jerseys...or at least they didn't narrow them by as much as the ones worn by the players. As much as I hate the Orioles' CGC, I don't place it in the bottom of that bottom because it's boring bad, not kitchen sink bad like some others. Miami has a pretty strong uniform schedule. The blue seems to be a home only option at the moment. For example, below is June 2024's calendar. Home Monday-Thursday - White Home Friday - Black Home Saturday - City Connect Home Sunday - Blue Road games seem to utilize gray or black based on the opponents choice. Mets wore white pinstripes from 11-13th, Nationals wore City Connect/City Connect/white from the 14-16th, KC wore white/white/light blue for the 24-26th, and Phillies went throwback/City Connect/cream/cream from the 27-30th.
