Ez Street
Ok, so you all know I'm geeked about Kansas City possibly getting an NBA or NHL team. It got me thinking about the old Kansas City Kings. I wondered if it would look good to use the current Sacramento Kings logos and turn them into KC Kings logos. They are rumored to be a possible tennant for the Sprint Center.so without further ado.......Coming soon, more possible teams that are looking at Kansas City.C&C is always welcomed. @DavidStreeter
TwoRsAndTwoLs
Stupid Question: Do the Kings actually use that Tertiary? I like it a lot, but I've never seen it... though I don't keep up on basketball very well. Every Fifth Day is a

KCScout76
Great logos Streeter!!! I saw an article in the paper why KC would have a better chance at getting a NBA team (maybe New Orleans) than an NHL team. The Sprint downtown Arena will be done in 2007. VitaminD
I'm with 2R/2Ls on that - that tertiary is ridiculously good. If it's their property, it's underutilized. If that's yours, you've gotta go track down the Maloofs and talk about a licensing deal.I like the set, but I don't know if the Royals' "KANSAS CITY" font goes with the style of numbers the Kings use, or with their home wordmark. And even though I like the old-school alts more than either one of the jerseys they use now, they don't really fit in with the present look. Maybe they could take some elements from the old sets and put them into a more modern look - incorporate the colors, or put the last names under the numbers on the back. "Start spreading the news... They're leavin' today... Won't get to be a part of it... In old New York..."In order for the Mets' run of 12 losses in 17 games to mean something, the Phillies still had to win 13 of 17. Ez Street
I used the "Kansas City" font because I'm didn't want to create a new one. Perhaps later I will endulge in spending time doing so. I did however spend the time to match the correct font in the Primary Logo. That was fun I guess that's just my "Cut Up" style. The Kings have been rumored because they were unable to get a new arena in Sac-town. The Maloofs have said it might be something they have to do. @DavidStreeter
GeorgesL
The secondary logo with "KC" makes a lot of sense, as opposed to the"SK" they have now. All in all, this is a pretty decent concept. I suppose if the Kings are really rumoured to move to KC, I'd say if the Raiders can go home again, why not the Kings? Besides, as much as I think Sacramento is a pleasant city, I never saw them competing at a major league level.
bulldogbarks55
I like your optimism, but I think the Kings will stay in Sacramento. But I like your idea of transferring them BACK to KC. I'd like for someone to do a concept for this team if they transferred back to their ORIGINAL home city of Rochester as the ROYALS. KC changed the name to Kings because of the baseball Royals, even though the two nicknames were totally unrelated..The Rochester Royals were once known as the Seagrams because their sponsor was a local whiskey distributor (Eber Brothers). They changed upon entering the NBL and took the name "ROYALS" from Seagram's Crown Royal whiskey. I'd love to see a concept using the script wordmark off of the Crown Royal sack the bottle comes in. For their primary logo you could use the actual crown from Crown Royal sitting on a basketball. The Royals colors were always red, white and royal. I know purple is the "royal" color and the Crown Royal whiskey sack is purple with gold embroidery.Maybe someone could do them both ways. This might fall into the request category, but I came here because I felt it would get more views.

tp49
I hope Sacramento doesnt lose the Kings. They are great for the city's economy Who says Sacramento might lose the Kings? The rumor's been floating around Sacramento for awhile especaially since the Downtown Arena plans fell through as well as the proposed Natomas area arena. Speculation's been if the team moves they would go to Las Vegas as the Maloof's have numerous holdings there. However, the talk of moving died down as of late. Mac the Knife
Guys, the Sacramento Kings aren't going anywhere, and if they were, it sure as hell wouldn't be back to Kansas City. What I think EZ's doing is some wishful thinking that, if an NBA team were to relocate there, they'd attempt a name switch with Sacramento, revitalizing the "Kansas City Kings" name, a la the Utah/New Orleans situation we've discussed here before. Indeed this and my future concepts are wishful, somewhat unlikely cenarios. But I think that most, if not all, are based on SOME sort of talk. Talk is cheap so take it for that. But I think it's interesting to see who it looks to juxtapose their position. If anyone else would like to do similar concepts I think that would be cool. I'd be interested to see what someone else could come up with. @DavidStreeter
