STL Cardinals hat

Anyone know why the Cards never wear the current model BP hats (the flexfit ones)?

Last year for BP they wore the old model (mesh) ones. This year they are wearing their wool alternate hats for BP. Why don't they wear the flexfit ones like all the other teams?

They are not very comfortable, might be one reason. They are purely a marketing ploy. There is no reason for the existence of those caps.

what are you talking about? the flex fit feels much better then the authentic caps.

I'm sorry, I got a Jays flexfit cap (GRAPHITE too!!!) and it's my fav hat cause it fits so well, and cause it's in such an awesome colour. You never have to worry about it getting wet since it doesn't shrink.

The only place I was able to find it was in the Jays shop at the Rogers Centre, so I don't think it's a marketing thing. And trust me, I go to MANY sports apparel stores in my area. Heck, the one in the mall I work in knows me BY NAME.

not if it fits your head. how can something that fits perfectly somehow feel worse than something that has to stretch to fit you?

authentics are to stiff and hard to break in, imo.

braden, i too have a graphite jays flexfit cap. i may not like the new identity, but ive got to support the team. as for the hat, i love it!

I've said it before, and I'll say it again:

If your hat size is "in between" on those caps, they suck. I wear a 7 5/8 (Or, I guess, now a 7 3/4, as I just bought a new Cubs 59 fifty, and had to go up a size), and the L/XL is listed as 7 5/8 - 8, while the M/L is 7 1/8 - 7 5/8. The M/L is tight, and the L/XL is loose. I went with loose, and while the material is nice, the fit could be better...

I know one thing, I hate the fit of the 3930s. I mean, they feel like I'm wearing something that wants to be a hat but isn't quite so. I'd rather still have the mesh 5950s, or teh 3930 material on a regular hat.

slightly off topic, I got me a new Bucks hat outta foot locker's $10 bin...shoot, this might be the first time I've seen a size 8 fit a bit loosely :D

Off topic, I decided to test out the cap button thing just to see for myself-and as said, the button serves no purpose, you could just as easily put a secondary team logo up there :D don't worry, I did it to two hats I rarely wear.

I like the stretch-fits A LOT better. As other have said, the sizing can be tough...and they're VERY inconsistent. You could have three New Era 5950's, all the same size...but all fit very differently. Plus, they shrink fairly easily.

when i have a lot of hair the flex fit hats are the comfoprtable way to go, but i have to say there is nothiong better than the feel of a 5950 on a freshly cut head of hair.:oh::grin:

Im so jealous. Here every sports store sells Leafs and Wings jerseys. That's it. Then you've got the Foot Locker, Sport Chek stores that sell basketball jerseys. And there is ONE store in my entire city that sells MLB stuff. This includes Red Sox, Yanks, and Jays hats that are all 7 1/4 or smaller pretty much. NFL? None.

And this is a city of over 70,000 people. DAMN YOU SARNIA!!!

I don't like the fit of the 5950s or the bills. I had a BP hat for Illinois when they first came out and didn't really care for that either honestly.

But I was at a Louisville Bats game last week and they had Low Profile Authentics and they are awesome. Its one of my favorite fitting hats now along with my Franchise hats.

The low profile 5950's are nice...the regular cut is as tall as a chef's hat.

3930s are comfortable except for on the inside lining of the hat, in the back with the New Era label- made of polyester, makes it very uncomforable to wear backwards. Otherwise, like 'em better than 5950s. I wear my Navy Cubs Cap on a daily basis since they came out in Spring 2004.
