No, they are not. Again, I;m not sure who but I'm sure a football team from back when you couldn't leave early for the NFL could beat them. And I don't want to hear they can beat an NFL team. If it wasn't for a fluke bounce (the ball going out of bounce) they would have lost this game. To be honest with you I think Texas is the number 1 team right now.

THE GREATEST TEAM, EVER!!!

How about those Army Black Knights of 1944/1945?

Still hold the NCAA record for highest average gain per play (7.9 yards), Most Points Per Game (56.0), Most Touchdowns Per Game (8.2), and Highest Scoring Margin (52.1).

Just to name a few.

Go Black Knights!

AND!!

They didn't win with ease. They won by getting lucky. Lucky on where the ball bounced and how the refs called it. I'm not saying that it didn't bounce out of bounds, but thats why they won. Because it did. USC is a college team. Case closed. Can't play NFL.

The ball went out of bounce. What is contraversial about it? It was in Notre Dame of course they are going to run the clock out and storm the field. Nice try.....Irish!

Home field advantage ie Michigan St clock fiasco

THEY ARE THE GREATEST COLLEGE FOOTBALL TEAM EVER. DYNASTY.

I am going to revisit this thread because if USC is as great as I know they can be, they will comeback on Notre Dame and defeat the Irish, as they are currently down 21-14 at the half.

Go Trojans!

Still think they could be a pro team?

Be a pro team or beat a pro team??

I still think they could compete with (and possibly defeat) a team like San Francisco or Arizona, and you can throw Houston into the mix cause they look like plop this year.

It also looks like USC may have flipped the second half switch, again. It's all of a sudden tied, 21-21.

There is absolutely no way USC could beat a pro team. There's absolutely no they could even compete with an NFL team. USC only has so many players that will even be good enough to play in the NFL... everybody on the 49ers is good enough to play in the NFL.

I thought they were called the Cadets back then.

And no. The Trojans would most likely own the Cadets.

Did you see how Notre Dame dominated the entire game, and when USC felt like they actually needed to score, they do it, and with ease. Amazing game, and an amazing team!

Ah yes... Notre Dame dominated the entire game, yet USC is the best ever. Were you trying to make sense there? It's not like they only tried to score on some possessions.

Yeah, this is kinda controversial, but it was the right call. The ball went out of bounds, the clock should've stopped. But hell, if it was high school it would be game over and those posts would be somewhere near Touchdown Jesus by now.

But o well, that's how the cookie crumbles.

And no way in HELL USC could beat an NFL team. That's ludicrous.

Says who? I don't see USC with the highest average points or touchdowns per game?

And yea, my bad, I'm pretty sure they were the Cadets.

USC always wins. Winning is all that matters. That's my point.

The Trojans can be dominated, yet sill come out on top. They're unstoppable when they need to be, and great champions.

Great teams can turn it on when needed to win.

At Oregon, they were down by 10, they smoked them in the 2nd half.

At Arizona State, they were down by 18, and yet again they smoked the foe in the 2nd half.

Down yet again at Notre Dame and they make a comeback that's Instant Classic worthy.

Don't hate USC because they are the best, because the best can turn it on when needed.

The ending wasn't controverail and it was the right call. However I think the Army team mentioned in the 40's would kill USC. Because you fail to look at how college footbal has changed over the years. Teams from the 70's (At lesat) and before all had rosters full of Seniors because you couldn't leave college early for the pros. Not to mention the teams of the earliest centuries that did beat pro teams because players didn't turn pro at all. Those too would kill USC. But that is going back too early. But most of the top teams of the 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's would probably kill USC. Becasue they had all senoirs.

OK all this talk USC could beat an NFL team, USC couldnt beat an NFL team is kinda pointless. This USC team will never play a pro team, ever. So basically its like saying that the Colorado Avalanche could beat the Philadelphia 76ers. Its pointless because noone is ever gonna try something that stupid (again) so no one will ever know. The fact is that USC is probably the greatest dynasty in the history of college football, but they also cant go back and play the 1947 or whatever Army team and they cant play the 2001 or 02 or whenever the hell they were good Miami team so we can never proove they are the GREATEST. I will say this, USC is the best team in vs thier respective league that I have ever seen. Another thing is, in my opinion, anyone who trys to discredit that by saying that they pay the refs off or some of the other stupid bullplop ive heard are just haters. Theyre an awesome team, and better than your team whoever that may be. GET OVER IT!!!!!

USC got a generous spot on about the one and a half foot line, no farther back than that. It should've been placed around the one and a half yardline as the ball was fumbled at about the one, and went backwards and out of bounds. It would still be possible for USC to win it, but it would have been tougher.
