I highly doubt that we trade for Manny.

I'm quite disgusted by tejada right now. I really don't want to see him in an O's uniform next season. Rumor has it that he announced this trade because his buddy David Ortiz told him the Sox had an opening at SS when they traded Rentaria. Which I'm starting to believe since the players Tejada was complaining about in order to "win" where Durazo and someone else who he played with in Oakland. I'd love to trade him to KC or Pittsburgh, but I don't think they would have enough to trade.

I can see why youd be upset, but the Cards didnt really show that much interest in bringing him back either

For those san Fran fans, be prepared to be very very frustrated in morris. He has flashes of brilliance, and then he'll give up 3 home runs.

He was a great Cardinal and will be missed. I can't blame him for leaving, but I'm kinda glad to see him go. It was just so hard to feel relaxed when he was pitching.

The only reason I wanted them to sign him (just like Burnett) so they would trade marquis for a outfield bat.

I love the dispare in Cardinals fans. We still have the Cy Young and MVP winners. We have Rolen back which he was injured last year. (and don't give me this injury prone crap, he had 3 freak injuries from hustling, he's never had "nagging" injuries) Sure there are holes, but those holes (which were just as bad last year) weren't filled til well after this point in the offseason. I thought the ownership was screwing the fans, but when you look at it, they've doubled payroll in less than 10 years, they are in the middle of the pack marketwise, but top of the heap payroll wise.

You don't think we're ok with this:

Carp

Mulder

Suppan

Marquis

Reyes

Eck

Edmonds

Pujols

Rolen

So Taguchi

John Rodrequez/Bigbie

Luna (at worst)

Molina

Not the WS favorites but very much contenders. We've been spoiled.

There are few teams (about 3) that are extremly strong the entire lineup.

Anyway, don't count out the Cardinals just because they didn't sell the future by trading away prospects or signing huge deals. Morris was offered what he was worth, and honestly, probably too much.

Cards sign Ricardo Rincon from Oakland. 2 years 2.9 mil. Basically same money they were paying Ray King, but they got 2 extra guys by trading king. Now that this happened, I'm ok with the King Trade.

Not that big of a loss for Oak Town, considering that he spent a good amount of time down in AAA last season.

definitely not okay

that could be the worst outfield in cardinal history..

I'm glad Morris is out of St. Louis. He didn't really do any good for the Cards in the playoffs the past two years and it turned out he's a greedy bastard too. I say they should try to trade for Javier Vazquez or sign Jarrod Washburn.

As a Cards and Angels fan(I became a StL fan when Edmonds went), I don't want Washburn in St. Louis. I was so happy to see him leave Anaheim/LA...I would hate to see him suit up for my other team. He was good for a year, and pretty disappointing otherwise. Granted that one year was the best of my life, but he hasn't done much since 2002. The Cards don't look so good this year though. Hopefully someone has a bigger year than expected, someone like Bigbie or Yadier. Then again, my Angels don't look quite as good either.

So...worse than what was in for about 30-40 games last year?

The attitude of Cardinal fans is amazing. I used to be proud to be one of them, but if they don't bring in a Jim Edmonds or Scott Rolen every year, the sky is falling.

At this point last year there was no Nunez, Mulder, or Eckstein. Chill.

i have faith in walt ...so i don't think the sky is falling yet..

i am proud that the cards don't go nuts over .500 pitchers like morris and burnett and ruin their whole salary structure..they went to a certain point with renteria and burnett and backed off..they were right with renteria, i think they are right about burnett..

i am wooried about the owners..i think they might be getting the team in fiscal shape to sell..but let's see

i just hope they don't think bigbie and miles and rincon are amswers to holes!
