MNF - Cowboys @ Eagles

Andy

Wow. What a turnaround. Roy Williams intercepts McNabb with little over 2:00 remaining and returns for a TD, putting the Cowboys up by 1. On the ensuing series, McNabb fumbles on third down and the Eagles recover, and they punt.

It's not over yet, but I find myself feeling for McNabb. For a man playing through pain, putting up with the biggest media crazed distraction in the NFL this season, a divided locker room, who put up with racist comments from Rush Limbaugh, he takes it all in stride. He does not make excuses. It's odd, but in this moment of futility I find myself rooting for him even more and hoping he gets it turned around in Philly soon.

Anyone else feel this way?

Akers is coming on for a 61-yarder. Cross your fingers, Eagles Fans.

:cursing: !!

I do feel for McNabb, but I put a little of the Birds being 4-5 (now) on him. He should've had this sports hernia taken care of before the bye week. He hasn't been the same QB since he got hurt. I respect the heart, but he isn't 100% and it shows. He actually looked to run for the first time this game; I don't know if he's too hurt to run, or if he's that determined to prove he's a good pocket QB. Whatever the reason, it's not working.

In order for the Mets' run of 12 losses in 17 games to mean something, the Phillies still had to win 13 of 17.

If the Eagles and their fans think they are better off without Owens, they are dead wrong.

Seriously?! They may be worse off without his talent on the field, but he is an absolute cancer who's poisoned 2 locker rooms. In the long run, the Eagles will be better off without him. They don't need the headaches, the distractions, the media crush - and they also don't need a prima donna who expects the ball all the time. The Eagles were successful before TO by spreading the ball around the offense.

Tell ya what, DC - let's see Herm and the Jets get TO. Tell me how that talent works out for you. Hell, you took Kotite, so I figure the precedent's been set for picking up jettisoned Philadelphians. Enjoy.

So you're saying Owens isn't a good player?? Owens is possibly the best at his position, so wanna tell me how this helps the Eagles, especially now that they bascially have ZERO wide receivers. If Owens had played in either of the last two games, both Philly losses, they win at least one.

The Eagles went from contenters with Owens, to finishing last in their division.

And since you brought up the Jets, I'm pretty sure if Owens was playing for them, they sure as hell wouldn't be 2-7.

I won't mention his name again, so at least in this tiny corner of the world, he won't get ink from me. #80 may be a good player, even a great one, when he is motivated to do so, and it's in his best interest.

Make no mistake..he is also a CANCER in the clubhouse.

A chemistry/coach/team killer.

There is NO TEAM. I will say that again..NO TEAM..

that can benefit from him being on their roster.

Eventually, he will once again pit player against player, you name it..and it will happen again.

It happened here in SF. Woulda happened in Baltimore, and it has in Phila.

CANCER. eating away at the fabric of what a T E A M is about. I love that recent photo of him with headphones on, look up at the camera with a snarl and glare that says, GET AWAY FROM ME. Yeah, a great teammate.

Eventually. all the baggage will be too much for even the greediest owner

(see Snyder, Daniel) to bear.

I have three letters that #81 should pay attention to: C F L.

PS-

Top wideout in the league? That Harrison fellow in Indy is pretty good. Or Ward in Pittsburgh. All they do is make plays, score TDs, and win games. No thuggish behavior.

(McNabb is) overrated ... what we have here is a little social concern in the NFL. The media has been very desirous that a black quarterback can do well?black coaches and black quarterbacks doing well. There's a little hope invested in McNabb, and he got a lot of credit for the performance of his team that he didn't deserve. The defense carried this team.

Okay, so the exact same argument (that he receives too much credit for his team's performance) could be made about Tom Brady, Ben Roethlisberger, or Brett Favre, but it isn't. How many other starting QB's have to put up with this kind of racist nonsense? How is race even an issue when we're talking about the success of a quarterback? Could the Eagles have won with Koy Detmer?

McNabb is not overrated. I'd take him on my team.

Anyway, the whole point is that while McNabb could've gone on a tirade about racism in the national media or gotten upset about the whole ordeal, he stayed cool and acted with class that many other athletes just don't have. I respect him for that.

Yeah, Owens lead the Niners and Eagles to SO MANY championships..oh wait.

Dude, get over yourself. Owens may be good, but so far he's like a bad parasite: when he's with a team, they're not great, but they're ok..then as soon as he's forcibly removed..it kills the host.

As a Cowboys fan, I know we dodged a HUGE bullet. I'll take it though. I have the utmost respect for Donovan McNabb. Though I dislike the Eagles, I think he is one of the classiest players in the NFL. He plays through pain, he doesn't gripe and he had to put up with all the Terrell Owens b.s.. Hope he's okay.

I found this line in a philly blog site. I found it quite funny.

"The only way it could have been worse is if the Roy Williams had negotiated Billy Wagner's new contract with the Mets during his game-winning interception return. Or maybe if he traded Ryan Howard, too. And kicked some puppies. Cute, Eagles jersey-wearing puppies."

"The views expressed here are mine and do not reflect the official opinion of my employer or the organization through which the Internet was accessed."
