Before this season the only one i can remember was Tampa's Super Bowl win. Why is it? Has the Quality in the NFL dropped off THAT much in the last 5 years? Or have certain players and teams gotten to the point where there just that good that they constantly kill everyone else? Some teams give up hope, others don't (see Dolphins v. Bills). Also, another reason (1) Monday Night Football is moving to cable, and (2) the NFL needs to move to the flex schedule post-Halloween. The critics couldn't be too loud, because, well, the Eagles were successful. Their moves produced results. Were the results Super Bowls? No, but perennial contention was a given, up until this season.Even when the Eagles were winning games, there were issues with clock management, run/pass balance, letting decent players walk, just overall, arrogance in handling anyone questioning the "Eagle way" of doing business.This season's a mulligan, fine. Philly fans are not exactly known for their patience though, and right now Lurie/Banner/Reid are looking like clowns. They best have a plan to turn this thing around, but you wonder whether you want to rebuild with the Reid blueprint.
