Seahawks sleeve logo

With the new uniforms the Seattle Seahawks went from their large wraparound sleeve "hawk" to the much smaller version. Looking at them playing on TV, the hawk emblem looks (to me) to be almost the same size as the Reebok (or whatever it is) logo. One is right above the other.

To me this looks kind of cheesy and poorly thought out, but I'm in the minority on this one as I preferred their old outfits. Thoughts/observations?

If you are in the minority, so am I (at least as to the sleeve logo). They definitely should have used a larger logo after ditching the wraparound hawk. The new one is barely visible because it is so small.

As for the overall scheme, I always liked the old unis, but the new color scheme has really grown on me. Now they need to start wearing the white pants at home fulltime.

It will be hard to convince the team that they should wear white pants at home.  The Hawks have gone 8-0 at home twice while wearing the blue on blue at Qwest Field.

You're probably right, but a fellow can hope, can't he? :welcome:

This minority you speak of is getting awfully crowded. Though I don't mind the new look (although the blue/blue look is still a bad idea IMO), it pales compared to the old look. Silver helmets and pants, a better color scheme (I'll take green/royal blue over blue, blue, more blue and a thin strip of neon lime every day and twice on Sundays), better lettering/numbering, a wordmark that didn't look a little bit like every other team in the NFL (Cards, Texans... you get my point) and the wraparound sleeve trim that you could actually see. Outside of minor tweaks to the hawk/totem's face to make it a little less sedated, there is nothing about the new package that improved upon what they had in the Zorn/Krieg/Bosworth (OK, and Largent too) years.

In order for the Mets' run of 12 losses in 17 games to mean something, the Phillies still had to win 13 of 17.

I think you'd be hard pressed to find someone on here that didn't agree with you about how freaking tiny the seahawk logo is!

I once had a car but I crashed it. I once had a guitar but I smashed it. I once, wait where am I going with this?

I for one like the current Seahawks gear much better then the old stuff. I agree that the all blue look is awful, but beyond that they look very sharp. My one complaint,is as you said, the small logo on the sleaves. Make that logo bigger, and wrap it around. If they do that they'll be perfect.

Ahhh. Why do so many people hate the blue on blue look? IMO, that is the best look in the NFL. OK, just look at it this way, your in Seattle, its kinda cold, the sky is overcast, its raining a bit. That color works perfect on days like this, which is all the time up in Seattle. White would get too dingy looking in a climate like that, you need a fully dark look like that.

OK, maybee you think im off my rocker, but i think that the climate accually helps to enhance that color

Sleeve logo is too small. Either enlarge or remove. It shouldn't look like a manufacturer logo.

I've learned to live with the all blue look although I agree that the white pants with blue top look great. Too bad the original white pants were made incorrectly, which is why the team had to wear the blue pants at home in the first place. Once it was done, we were stuck with it.

Leave it alone. Leave it all alone. Blue on blue, logo size, everything. We all know, even if it was a wrap around logo, it wouldn't truely wrap around anyway. NOTHING wraps around anymore. In the Seahawk's defense, they tried to keep a little tradition around by having home and away helmets (blue and silver) and then NFL told them no.

I've never heard that before. Please tell us more.

I don't like the current blue on blue look, but I think the white pants look much, much worse with that jersey.

You know what might be interesting? Dark blue pants--the same colour as the sleeves on the jersey. I think that'd break up the monochrome problem, but not look as out-of-place as the white pants.

There was nothing wrong with the pants in 2002. They thought it was "trendy" to be the first team in the NFL to wear all blue clad all the time. The Bill also tried it for awhile but fans got tired of it all-the-time. Now they only do it once in a while. The Seahawks have an over all 3-2 record in the blue/white combo. The team over the last 4 years (with the exception of this year) have lost a lot in the all blue combo........

The only reason people seem to like the blue/blue is that is just about the only combo they have ever seen. People think it is out of place is because they have never seen it. If the team had started from the start wearing blue jerseys/white pants they would not seem as out of place.

In reguards to the small sleeve logo, in 2002 when the new uniforms were unvield, the sleeve logo was a much larger patch and the reebok logo was on the top of the shoulder but when the season started, the jersey logo was much smaller and the reebok logo moved down on the sleeve.....................

Actually there was a problem with the white pants. The material used was faulty and didn't "give" enough, making the pants too tight. They had to be re-made and while this was being done, the Hawks played a home games wearing the all blue. Yes it was trendy at the time which is why I believe it was easy for them to just continue to use this combo. But, the blue on blue was never intended that way. It was an unfortunate accident.

No, thats not true. I saw the blue jersey white pants combo in madden before i saw the All blue on the field and i thought the blue jersey white pants combo looked terrible.

Dingy looking? It's football not the ballet.

If Seattle wants to improve it's look, I suggest: white helmet; lime green pants; navy jerseys w/ silver "harlequin" shoulder and sleeve.

The Seahawks look u-g-l-y. They've got so much potential, but their green is garish and their blue/blue/blue combo is a nightmare.

Dude, its a :censored:ing sports logos board. Why do you think teams change their look? To look better. i feel that the All blue looks better than the blue and white.

Oh and BTW, whith how tight football pants are, along with how hard a lot of NFL players work to look good, it might as well be the ballet.
