There have also been the New Jersey Swamp Dragons, the wolf for the Quebec Nordiques, the eagle head for the Washington Capitals, the aborted 49ERS helmet, the secondary New England Patriots logo that was supposed to have been voted on by Foxboro Stadium applause at some home game in the 80s, and, of course, Houston 1836.

In addition the the eagle head for the Caps, there's this one:

TESS Caps logo

It looks like this is the logo on the shoulder of the aborted Caps jerseys that is on nhluniforms.com with the eagle head.

Please protect your eyes before scrolling down to look at the following jerseys that the St. Louis Blues considered in the 1990's.

These first three were designs that were considered when the team was moving into their new arena (Kiel Center then, Savvis Center now) in 1994.

The fourth is the most scarry. It was "this close" to becoming the new uniform of the St. Louis Blues in 1996. Until it was vetoed by Mike Keenan!

And now for what almost became the most horrific uniform in pro sports:

Accually i dont think it was going to be used as the primary, just as an alternate.

The first three really aren't that bad. They aren't better than their current jerseys, or any of their jerseys for that matter, but they're pretty good for rejected ones. I've seen the fourth before, and I believe that at that very moment, Mike Keenan was the smartest man in hockey history.

:D

Vetoing that jersey and trading for Chris Pronger (in hindsight) are the only times he was ever considered smart during his tenure in St. Louis. Other than that, he was the most hated sports person in the city.

Upon further inspection, there appears to be some kind of mascot in the bottom right corner. It has the trumpet logo on the shoulder of its jersey, and appears to be a blue cat. Is this a rejected mascot that would come with the new jerseys?

Anyone remember the original logo for Super Bowl XXXVI (not the patriotic logo adopted after 9/11)? I seem to remember it was pretty ugly, with mostly dark colors like burnt orange and brown.

Yeah, it was pretty bad. No real link to a concept regarding New Orleans, football, or anything in particular.

[Croatia National Team Manager Slavan] Bilic then went on to explain how Croatia's success can partially be put down to his progressive man-management techniques. "Sometimes I lie in the bed with my players. I go to the room of Vedran Corluka and Luka Modric when I see they have a problem and I lie in bed with them and we talk for 10 minutes." Maybe Capello could try getting through to his players this way too? Although how far he'd get with Joe Cole jumping up and down on the mattress and Rooney demanding to be read his favourite page from The Very Hungry Caterpillar is open to question. --The Guardian's Fiver, 08 September 2008

There was also a different Pro bowl logo for that year. Im really glad it was never used, the star was 100% better.

This is one of the logos but theres accually three more. I went to the 2001 and 2002 pro bowls and for both years they sent the ticket buyers a media guide with a full full set of all of the pro bowl logos. The 2002 logos werent great, but not bad either, then they were changed to the post 9/11 logos. Im kicking myself for not saving them.

the first two blues jerseys looks like something the blues would have worn in the 70s or it looks like something an AHL blues affiliate would wear. The third pair isn't too bad. tweak it up a bit, maybe add an arch and you would have an awsome 3rd.

Hey Steiny, good eye!

Yes it would have been the mascot. Here is the whole drawing. As you can see he is wearing the horrible jerseys that they DID decide to wear. Fortunately it was only for a short time. Short, but not short enough! After this they went back to a more traditional Blues jersey. Thank heavens!!!

If anyone has anyoff the regected logos by the canucks when they got a new logo awhile back id love to see them.

I remember cruising online when the Nucks' were changing over to the Orca C. As I recall they were planning to introduce the same look, but the primary colour was gonna be a forest green instead of navy blue. I think they chickened out at the last minute and went with the more traditional colour.

Not sure how I feel about him. At least they didn't spell his name with two k's for some reason.
