Well, World Cup history today in the England-Paraguay game.

First World Cup game ever where the only goal was an own goal.

And it wasn't even his fault. Beckham just hit it off that guy and it went in. That guy can bend it.

Correction: Beckham can STILL bend it.

Anyway, anyone else shocked that Trinidad and Tobago got a 0-0 draw againt Sweden? I wonder if the confidence of that tie will help them against England in the next game.

awesome flick-on by the Paraguay defender; shame it was into his own goal.

the ESPN announcers are horrible. absolutely horrible. for somebody who knows about soccer, I feel pandered to and that they're wasting my intelligence. it's the same sort of thing that happens with a lot of auto racing coverage in the US...and I really get annoyed by it. I wish I could get the European english-language feed somehow :(

The announcers just said "They were battling for position in the paint."

OMG, I'm going to watch this on the Spanish-commentary channel.

I liked "In what was a game dominated by Argentina, this game has turned 360 degrees!"

im gettin ready to watch the mexico/iran game on the spanish channel as well. ive noticed espns announcers are horrible and they dont put it the way it is. i hate when announcers suck up to players and give them credit where its not due.

go iran! IMO this is going to be the game of the day

The Netherlands beat S&M today 1-0, Arjen Robben with the goal. Looking foward to the Ivory Coast/Netherlands game.

That's what I call Clockwork Oranje. Didn't even give the Serbians a chance to score. We dominated possession and in turn, dominated the game. Ivory Coast is next. That'll be a good game, and we'll probably trot out in that sweet new white kit.

depends on who's home team. otherwise it'll be the elephants in green.

Portugal really haven't looked good today. Too content to let Angola's complete lack of attacking talent do all the self-defending. they haven't created nearly enough in attack.

TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO HAVE DONE IT! The largest odds to against them (1:1000) versus Sweden and they get their first world cup point. EVER.

Actually T+T is 1000:1 to win the world cup, i believe William Hill had it at 11:1 for T&T to beat Sweden. could be wrong.
