johnnysama
This dawned onto my mind a while back. Why doesn't Mitchell and Ness make NPB (Nippon Professional Baseball) and CFL throwback jerseys?I understand that not many people would buy them here in America (but I would!), but it would make for a great seller in Japan and Canada.I'd love to see a 1988 Ray Elgaard Roughriders home jersey, or maybe even a Sadaharu Oh jersey from 1974. Aw, man, the possiblities are endless...
fonz
Canada's not a big enough market to make them for.
SabreGuy
I believe Ebbets Field Flannels once had a larger selection of throwback Japanese league merchandise, though all I can find now is this Giants jacket. Usually, if you ask them to custom make something, I'm told they're more than willing to do it. Roger Clemente
Outside of the actual CFL cities in which case I'd peg the namber at about 500 each, there are probably no more than 100 people in Canada who would probably be interested in CFL throwback jerseys.--Roger "Time?" sean69
I'd take a throwback jersey now compaired to the rubbish that's in the CFL today.

Fred T. Jane
Dunno, I could see some limited success with Doug Flutie, Jeff Garcia, Joe Theismann, or Rocket Ismail jerseys... [Croatia National Team Manager Slavan] Bilic then went on to explain how Croatia's success can partially be put down to his progressive man-management techniques. "Sometimes I lie in the bed with my players. I go to the room of Vedran Corluka and Luka Modric when I see they have a problem and I lie in bed with them and we talk for 10 minutes." Maybe Capello could try getting through to his players this way too? Although how far he'd get with Joe Cole jumping up and down on the mattress and Rooney demanding to be read his favourite page from The Very Hungry Caterpillar is open to question. --The Guardian's Fiver, 08 September 2008 Attention: In order to obtain maximum enjoyment from your stay at the CCSLC, the reader is advised that the above post may contain large amounts of sarcasm, dry humour, or statements which should not be taken in any true sort of seriousness. infrared41
This dawned onto my mind a while back. Why doesn't Mitchell and Ness make NPB (Nippon Professional Baseball) and CFL throwback jerseys? It could be that they can't get the rights to them. Couple that with lukewarm interest at best and you can see why no one is making them. Still it would be pretty cool if they were available. Discrim
Flutie? Hotcakes. Rocket? heh, I'm buyin. Garcia? eh, not so much. A strong mind gets high off success, a weak mind gets high off bull

DGivens87
The only thing that bothers me, as a collector of all football jerseys, is that it's so hard to find a replica CFL jersey with numbers already on it for less than $80. A large cheese pizza, just for me.New England's source for soccer newsAnd hey, I made it to ESPN!
Sodboy13
Agreed. It makes no sense to me why the majority of CFL replicas are sold blank. (And for a higher price than NFL replicas with all the trimmings.) From there, RCS offers only one-color heat-seal numbers, or sewn-on authentic numbers with a hefty price tag. CFL Shop offers them pre-customized - for US$153! Good Lord. zubazpirate
Roger Edwards sports did a series of CFL throwbacks. They were lousy - looked more like hockey practice jerseys than anything else. The only ones that looked half-decent (or recognizable) were BC and Hamilton. You can find them gathering dust on clearance racks at a CFL team shop near you. The numbers on them didn't even refer to a player, they were for a year - the Eskimos one was something odd like 65. I think they had a fake distressed look to the (screened on) numbers too, didn't they?Anyway... My first choice for a high quality CFL throwback would be:Great jersey of great player who is well known in Canada and the U.S. - I think it would sell reasonably well. Either Moon or Flutie make the most sense to me.
