What moves should the Yankees make for 07?

Hire an exorcist for A-Rod?

Work on the farm system and get younger if you make any personnel moves.

Otherwise, stay the course.

As a Yankee fan blow it up and build around the Jeter, Caberea, Wang, Cano. They are the Yankees so it's not like thye need to go through a Pirate like rebuilding. It's clear the Giambi era Yankees are not going to win it all. Bringing in more high price FA won't change a thing it becomes over kill. Trade Giambi and A-Rod for some pitching propects. Sign a decent 1st and 3rd basemen both of whom can field. Make Matsui the DH and play Melky everyday. You do that and make the right signings they can still win next year plus they have a base for the future.

Personally I think Brian Cashman needs to go. He got the job when the 98 Yankees were already set and that team pretty much stayed together through 2001. Since then it's been bad signing after bad signing.

They should try building a team instead of trying to do it with a bunch of stars. They have a great line-up with a ton of talent but they keep losing to better "teams." There must be a reason for that. Does anyone really think the team with more talent has beaten the Yankees every single time since 2000? Their pitching isn't the greatest either. I would never want my season riding on the arm of Jared Wright. The Yankee dynasty of the late 90's was a team. This version is just a bunch of really good players thrown together.

That's my take. :D

All they are going to do is buy Zito, Santana, and all the other top shelf free agents for a dream team that will dissapoint again next year.

I don't see Santana going anywhere. They expect him to be around long term. Plus the Twins are all about young talent and the Yankees don't have :censored: to offer the Twins in that department.

I once had a car but I crashed it. I once had a guitar but I smashed it. I once, wait where am I going with this?

THis was a spectaular failure against the Tigers. I think its time they get a New Manager, I also think they need to dump A-Rod he is the face of failure. Although according to him it s a good looking one so try not to be too jealous of how rich he is.

Who can afford A-Rod or Giambi but the Yankees.I think any one who my take them will want the Yankees to pay a big amount of their salary.

I completly agree. To me Jason Giambi is the symbol of all that's wrong with the Yankees his signing signaled the turn around from dynasty to high price bust. The Yankee team of the 90's were built on pitching and defense. From 1996-2001 they only had 1 player hit more than 30 home runs, that was Martinez in 97 with 44. They could hit the home run but didn't live and die by it. The stole bases, hit and ran, and bunted. They had a strong pitching staff that didn't rely on 44 year old pitcher and a guy who has had multiple arm surgery's because he never learned how to pitch. Their bullpen was based on proven guys not FA signings of guys that bounced around teams and blew postseason games. This team can't play defense either. A-rod led the league in errors, they had Gary Sheffield play first, and Matsui in left is a down grade from Caberera.

Right now this is the Yankees of the 1980's the only difference is it is easier to make the playoffs now. Like I said blow it up get rid of Giambi and A-Rod and get top level prospects, mostly pitchers. Sign a decent first basemen and 3rd basemen who are good defensively. Move Matsui to DH. Also get a decent pitcher.

They would have to pay some of their salary. But if you trade A-rod and pay half of their portion the team has to pay him around 5-8 million. Texas already pays most of his contract.

As for Torre he is fine, the problem is he hasn't been givin his type of team. If someone needs to go it's Cashman but he is Stienbrenner's whipping boy so he will probably stay.

-Trade A-Rod and Giambi. (Abreu and Sheffield will also be gone.)

-Bring up Minor League 1B & 3B.

-Move Melky Cabrera to RF.

-Do something about Randy Johnson and Jaret Wright.

-Rinse and repeat.

I don't wanna see 162 All-Star games anymore.

So the team would look like...(this is not the line-up)

Damon CF

Jeter SS

Cabrera RF

Matsui LF

Cano 2B

(Unknown) 1B

(Unknown) 3B

Williams DH

Posada C

Of course this is all in a perfect world where Cashman's name wasn't so :censored:in ironically funny.
