SteveR
So they broke out the pinstripes and blue caps -- their best look IMO -- for a win-or-go-home Game 6.I can't remember the last time they eschewed the black in the postseason.

BamaHater
Wow, the Mets actually look good tonight. Pinstripes need to be used everyday.
SPORTSDOCTOR
Classic Mets the best look in makor league baseball...first time they have EVER worn their classic look since the incorporation of black to their color scheme back in 1997. dfwabel
When I first saw them, I thought the same thing at the gym. The more I watched teh game and went home to see it in HD, I then thought to myself, "They don't look right". I will just chalk it up to mnot seeing it in a while. In the event they do hold on, will they use them for a game 7? I would not say classic scheme since they have royal/Dodger blue, Giants orange, and Yankee pinstripes. CZzyzx41
Holy horse plop! The Mets actually look good tonight! No black caps, stupid helmets, solid whites or (heaven forbid) black alternates. Just the look the Mets need. Now, if they can only get them side & shoulder stripes back we'll all be better off. -DanielCheck Out My Podcast! SteveR
Would they be within the allowances of MLB Properties (or whoever decides such things) if they wanted to wear the blue caps with the road grays? In the event they do hold on, will they use them for a game 7? I would not say classic scheme since they have royal/Dodger blue, Giants orange, and Yankee pinstripes.I would think they'd want to.It's very much the classic look since it's the original look. Blue/orange/pinstripes was the foundation of every Mets home uniform from their arrival in 1962 until the addition of the all-whites in 1997. SmoothieX
YESSSSS!!!! YESSSSSSS!!!!As soon as I saw the look, I lost it like they just hit a big homer. (Lifelong Mets fan anyway.) My fiance even commented how nice they looked. And that right there says something.DITCH THE BLACK!!!

My fiance even commented how nice they looked. And that right there says something.DITCH THE BLACK!!!Yep, its obvious that the Cardinals just couldn't hit the ball tonight because they were mesmarized by those blue pinstripes. Its certainly the color black's fault that the Mets were down 3-2 in the series and only won 97 games this year. They have worn these uniforms at various times all year long. Like most teams with uniform choices, they will tend to change uniforms if they lose a game. Last time out at home, they lost with the white uniforms with no pinstripes. So, they chose between the black home jersey's (with black hat) and the white pinstripe jerseys (with blue hat). SPORTSDOCTOR
Yes, that uni is a buet...it would look even better when and if they would ever drop the black drop shadow on the letters and numbers...ya know, the ORIGINAL look.
Audiodrama
They looked :censored:ing beautiful. Just beautiful. They really need to ditch the black.
FiddySicks
I think the Cards shouldve worn jerseys with the Cardinals script minus the birds on the bat because they obviously left all their other bats back in St. Louis. cmm
I think the weather had something to do with the blue. It was a great night--69 degrees at 1st pitch--and I know they usually only break out the blue hats when it's nice since they don't look good with the black jackets (the right thing to do would be to get blue jackets...).Between the win and another nice day ahead, I'm expecting to see the blue hats and pinstripes again tomorrow. Yea!If only they wore these when Todd Pratt hit his home run in '99...
wdm1219inpenna
Indeed that was a classic look, even with the black shadow. The blue Mets cap is a classic. Why all these teams want black is beyond me.Bill McD.
Moser316
The baseball gods rewarded the Mets last night with a victory, hopefully they wear the blue and pinstripes again tonight to win Game 7.
BBM
Classic Mets the best look in makor league baseball...first time they have EVER worn their classic look since the incorporation of black to their color scheme back in 1997.Ummm what? They wear these a lot. I'd say a good 20 times a year at least. Maybe the first time in the playoffs, I'm not sure about that though. I would think the Mets would stick with em tonight, try to rekindle some '86 magic and win game 7. Also, I don't think they've worn a black jersey all postseason up to this point. I could be wrong about that though...
jkrdevil
I hope they go with the blue hat again in game 7 but this time with the solid white uniform. That IMO is their best look. Also, I don't think they've worn a black jersey all postseason up to this point. I could be wrong about that though...They have, I think either game 3 or 4 of this series. goforbroke
I don't know for sure.. but i'd imagine this is the first time theyve worn them in the playoffs for a few good reasons..1 - theyve only been IN three postseasons since they introduced the black. Havent really had THAT many home games to test them out.2- more importantly.. the blue caps are DAY TIME caps now. they wear them on Saturday and sunday afternoon games which arent too common in the postseason.
