Expansion would be crazy. IMO, there's just not enough talent to field 30 teams as is, nevermind 32!

Take a look at the CHL and college hockey and soon enough there will be enough to fill 32 teams.

Seeing as how Ron MacLean on CBC Sports proposed a Northern and Southern Conference alignment including Halifax, the Maritimes and even Beautiful Downtown Burbank, Canadians seem to be high on something, not just their latitude location. :hockeysmiley:

In order to make all fans happy,

I dont mean to sound like a jerk, but if you name a conference "The American Conference", you will most certainly NOT make all fans happy. If I was Canadian, I would take that as a HUGE slap to the face.

Or we can rename the American Clarence Campbell and the national Prince of Wales.

Actually pretty much everyone was split up from their rival. I can't imagine any team being happy with this.

Haven't you read my season. Each of these rivals are INTERLEAGUE rivals. Since they are in the Same geographic division of their respective conferences, they play each other 4 times in the season, just like if they were in the same division. So Chicago would still face St. Louis 4 times since Chicago's in the NC North and ST. Louis is in the AC North. If St. Louis was in the AC South, they would only face each other twice.

I read the reason--I still don't like it. The Flames & Oilers & Canucks should be fighting it out for their division. Just because they play each other the same amount of times doesn't matter to my disagreement.

It's that divisional jostling...

I think the NHL really needs to go to a NFL/MLB type set-up, I think having all of the NYC and LA media market teams bunched into the same divisions hurt's.

Wales Conference

East - Boston, Florida, NY Rangers, Pittsburgh, Washington

Central - Buffalo, Columbus, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto

West - Anaheim, Colorado, Dallas, Minnesota, San Jose

Campbell Conference

East - Atlanta, Carolina, New Jersey, NY Islanders, Philadelphia

Central - Chicago, Detroit, Nashville, St. Louis, Tampa Bay

West - Calgary, Edmonton, LA, Phoneix, Vancouver

What's funny about it? The man speaks the truth.

Besides, don't you have some B-list actress/singer to profess your love to?

I really don't think we need to re-align the NHL. I would like to go back to the old coference and division names though.

I think the NHL really needs to go to a NFL/MLB type set-up, I think having all of the NYC and LA media market teams bunched into the same divisions hurt's.

Wales Conference

East - Boston, Florida, NY Rangers, Pittsburgh, Washington

Campbell Conference

East - Atlanta, Carolina, New Jersey, NY Islanders, Philadelphia

Central - Chicago, Detroit, Nashville, St. Louis, Tampa Bay

West - Calgary, Edmonton, LA, Phoneix, Vancouver

Again separating rivals is not a good idea for the NHL. New Jersey should stay with the Rangers and Colorado with Detroit.
