FiddySicks
That's a jersey style/Mariner look that Bone wore, *and* it's a perfect player for this sort of line for the Ms - Griffey Jr. is still active and only wore that color scheme for a year IIRC.I'd buy one in a heart beat - Buhner is a Mariner legend, and they pulled the style of the jersey off really well. Gotta keep those in mind if I go up to Safeco this summer...They also have Edgar Martinez....... Shumway
I grew up during the maroon era, and mostly everyone I knew found those uniforms boring and uninspired, and was very glad that they changed in '92. I'd wager that the majority of the maroon-wearing fans are in the 18 - 22 age-range.While I don't care for the current set (my reasoning for that would require a whole dedicated thread) and have a fond appreciation for the throwbacks (only because they were all I knew for the first 15 years of my life) if they went back, people would just clamor for another change. This statement applies to nearly all throwbacks - people only like 'em because they don't see them all the time.I'm with you here, BBTV. Granted, I do think they should switch their current look, not necessarily the colors in total. People look at the cranberry and powder blue, and for some reason, neglect the fact that they only wore those colors for a brief part(20 or 21 years I think) of the franchise history(over 100 years). I really don't like their current uniforms, to be honest. That said, I think a revamp is in need. Although I'd love to see the cranberry make a return(essentially because red is way to common in the MLB), I'd like to see the Phils back in blue as the primary color. In '94, I loved the blue hats that they brought out. I'd honestly poop myself if they did something like this:
