Anyway.."England Wins" sums it up for Canucks fans if you read this...

http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog.php?post_id=8820

Who made those jerseys?

England Wins, from the CDC forums. Which you'd know if you clicked on the link your quoted.

Yes I would know. I didn't have the time to click that link when I made the post. Which is why i asked.

I just saw this on another board, thoughts?

Can we all agree to stop posting crappy cell phone shots of jerseys? No camera phone nowadays is that bad that they couldn't get a decent shot of a jersey that close up.

Every one of them has been a fake.

Sorry man I just wanted to share.. I can take it off if you guys want. The legitimate capitals jersey leaked photo was awful quality though. So was the Quad City Flames image.

The new hockey video games are due out around September 2nd-10th, so all of them will be released by then. No training camp unveilings or anything, it should all be clear by the next month. Cudos to EA Sports and the NHL for not letting all of the rabbits out of the hat, making all of us wait patiently for concepts to be made to fill the gap in our life, that is what our teams will be wearing. I absolutely cannot wait until the 2008-2009 season when teams can have their third jerseys and maybe some vinatge jerseys with the new materials.

WRONG. EA already has all of the new jerseys in-game, but for those teams that haven't unveiled their jerseys by the time the game ships, there will only be a blank image. Once the team has shown off their new jerseys, EA will post codes on their websites to unlock the jerseys in NHL 08, so you can play with them.

Meaning teams will still be unveiling uniforms AFTER NHL 08 ships.

Whoa. Wait a minute. So if I buy the game in say October I'll have to go to the EA site to get and then enter a bunch codes to actually USE it? And then if I re-install the game at some later date I'll have to do that all over again and hope that those codes are still there or make sure to keep them in a safe place otherwise the game will be unusable? That just seems wrong. If that's the case then I guess I won't be buying it.

NO! Where the hell did you get the idea that the ENTIRE GAME would be unplayable without the codes?

The new jerseys that have not been unveiled by the time the game ships are represented by a blank picture. To unlock the jerseys, you have to input codes that EA will post once the team has officially shown the jersey. When I said "image," I meant PICTURE.

I can see where you might have mistook image for an iso or something on a game disc, but no where did I EVER say the entire game would have to be unlocked. I only said "EA will post codes on their websites to unlock the jerseys in NHL 08, so you can play with them." No mention WHATSOEVER of "EA will post codes on their websites for you to unlock your entire game, and you can't play anything without them."

What the hell are you people smoking?

Dude, seriously, chill the hell out. Take a walk in the park. Stop and smell the roses. Call a hooker. Whatever works for you. Jeebus. You'll give yourself a stroke.

And I never said the game would be unplayable but if I want to use the new jerseys I will have to unlock each and every one of them or use the old ones (I guess). So if I re-install it next summer then I have to go troll EA's site to find these codes again and hope they're still there? Or I'm stuck with half a product? It makes no sense whatsoever. And if that's the case then they should push back the release date by 3 weeks. I write software for a living and I would never do something this idiotic if I could just push back the date by 3 weeks and avoid it all. Why would I make my customers jump through hoops?

To return to the Canucks:

So far, there have been 2 potential leaks that look good enough to possibly be the next Canuck uniforms.

Behind door #1 we have this...

I woudn't mind if this was real cause they kept horizontal stripes, and that design looks good with the old canuck colors. I don't mind the wordmark all that much either.

Now door #2...

newunimm6zs9.gif

IMO, what you're seeing above is THE new Canucks jerseys. It contains the most rumored traits mentionned so many times (vertical striping, old colors, orca logo, wordmark above orca logo, etc.)

And by the way, what happened to that modernized stick n rink logo. Was it a concept or could it be legit?

Hmmm...one "shot" has it and the other one doesn't. It doesn't take a genius to figure out what's going on here. Fake.

First off, I'm glad to see this thread has not devolved into crude name-calling and insults, and that all forum members are behaving with a sense of decorum, just as Brian In Boston asked us all to do in the first post of this thread.

Now, onto the latest, er, "developments."

Canucks, Flames, Maple Leafs: Fake, fake, and fake. The "low-res crappy cell phone shot" is clearly the crutch of the moment for any douche with Photoshop attempting to make his lame concept legit. This is no more than people distorting an image to a degree where lots of people will bite because they can't immediately determine how fake it is. Problem is, this latest batch is trying way too hard to look real, which makes it even more fake looking.

Flames: What, did somebody take this picture with a Polaroid camera off the glossy page of a catalog, and then scan it in?

Canucks: Look at the distortion in the logo. It's like trying to save a jpeg in Paint on Windows 3.1. Or it's like I'm 14 again and trying to view 256-color porn on my 16-color monitor. Whichever simile you can better relate to.

Leafs: First off, I thought the silver was gone. Second, look at how close together those numbers are. The first layer consists of two numbers, but the two layers underneath would have to be single pieces - meaning those two layers of twill would have to be a custom-cut, labor-intensive piece for any player on the team wearing a two-digit number. Not going to happen.
