NYBadshah1
I noticed that for the Patriots endzone script, they used the script without the logo over the P, but in their prior appearances they used the one with the logo over the P.
Harlequin
Odd. They must have painted it blue after media day... I thought they might give the field a more old school feel. BUT I prefer colored endzones.
powersurge
Very, very hard to see, but it looks like the Patriots will have a blue end zone as well:Great pic, thanks!Yup, looks like the Giants will be royal blue and the Pats will have a navy endzone. I know its been well over a year now that this stadium has opened, but I still think its incredibly cool to see the field OUTSIDE of the stadium. What a great feature, doesn't get much better than that. On a related note...the Cardinals' stadium is amazing, but the Cowboys' stadium is actually going to blow THIS one out of the water. Not sure if the Cowboys' stadium will have a retractable field, but it looked like it will.

tBBP
Very, very hard to see, but it looks like the Patriots will have a blue end zone as well:i'm STILL trying to wrap my brain around that one.I mean...just...that's 120-some-odd yards of MOVING SURFACE there. I mean...I got to see the Crawler live and in person some years back (the flatbed motorpad that carries the space shuttle tilted up on its ass to the launchpad--which by the way as the time had almost 100 wheels and burned the tarmac at a blistering ONE MILE PER HOUR), but THIS HERE...I mean, why even bother with a practice facility? It's like they can practice right damn there!!!(Except the field would get a lil' torn up, don't cha think?) *Disclaimer: I am not an authoritative expert on stuff...I just do a lot of reading and research and keep in close connect with a bunch of people who are authoritative experts on stuff. || dribbble || Behance ||
evan1134
Here is a link to a video on NFL.com about the field for the Super Bowl. http://www.nfl.com/videos?videoId=09000d5d80660157Included in it is a little history of the fields in the Super Bowl including a nice bit about the often overlooked football and crown "Super Bowl I" logo at midfield. I kind of like that logo even though it is sort of cheesy. Maybe they could somehow incorporate it for Super Bowl L for nostalgia.
timparry
Are the Giants abandoning the "Backgammon" wordmark? Only basing this on a few things:1) Can't even find the wordmark on Giants.com (then again, I can't find the traditional one that used to be the helmet logo, either)2) I picked up a t-shirt with that logo 2 days ago on clearance at a T.J. Maxx (but it also had the NFL Equipment logo on it, maybe that's the reason?)3) A few of the shirts done up by Vanity Fair under the NFL brand contained "G-Men" in the old helmet logo font.As a Giants fan, I've grown to like the new wordmark. Yeah, it's not the greatest thing out there, but when you've bled Giants Blue for ages, it's a beautiful thing

They did a whole segment on the retractable field and the mechanics of it. Let me just say, it is ridiculously heavy, but the horsepower that it takes to move it is so minimal that it blew me away. They really nailed it when they built this field.

tohasbo
I just love that aspect of the rolling turf. I think that all teams that open a new stadium should consider doing that.

Someone went a little gun-ho there. Now that they've lost, you could probably by one to use as place mat or a bath towel now that it has zilch meaning. That's what i'd proudly do at least I agree on the Giants one - put 14-6 on it just to tick the Pats off hehe! Jimmy Eat World
jman077
This is only vaguely logo related, but, did anyone notice that whenever FOX had a graphic mentioning an old Super Bowl, or were showing highlights from old Super Bowls, they used their Arabic numerals, not the proper roman ones? It really, really bothered me. "Super Bowl 33" or "Super Bowl 14" just didn't feel right. Sig courtesy of LEWJ
