Uggh. Eveland looked just horrible today in the loss to the Jays. Bad game for sure, especially after last nights heart breaking 2-1 loss to the Jays.

Not only did the A's give up 12, they gave up 12 to the Jays whom coming into this game were second last in the american league in runs scored and (still) on their way to smashing the all-time GIDP record.

14-1 in day games!

The fact that they're 2 games back from the Wild Card... and doing it all without Vernon Wells... is crazy.

Maybe Gibby's better than we think he is.

Isn't it just a little bit early to be talking Wild Card? It ain't even All-Star time yet. :P

And what the hell are the D-Backs doing getting swept by the Giants? That's kinda weird.

Maybe their from Holland :P

That was definitely a series that the Giants desperately needed. That shows that either the Giants are about to go on a tear, or the D Backs are about to hit a huge slump. If it's the latter, thankfully the Dodgers are playing like crap too :D

When you haven't made the playoffs in 15 years you take anything you can get?

So in the top of the 8th with a man on first and second, the San Francisco Giants just pulled a 5-4-3 triple play vs the Padres. WOW.

EDIT: <_< And after all that, after battling for 13 innings, playing some of the best ball I've seen the Giants play all year they slip back into mediocrity by WALKING in two runs. This team is nearly impossible to watch without wanting to kick the TV in.

Bucfan, where's the love for my Cubbies (best record in the majors ^_^) who've been throttling the rest of the NL West for your G'nts??

Arizona, swept.

San Diego, took 3 of 4.

Los Angeles, swept.

Colorado, soon to be swept...

True that man, Chi Town has been tearing it up. Fukudome has made the transition almost as smooth as Ichiro did, the pitching is solid, and the chemistry is FINALLY there. If they pick up one more piece before the trade deadline, prefferably an outfielder, and they're set.

BTW, good to have you back bro ^_^

Good to be back, Hoss!

Knowing the Cubs, they're gonna leave the OF as is and sadly roll the dice with Jim Edmonds. This leaves starting pitching. It's hard to put much faith behind anyone other than Big Z, although Dempster has been a pleasant surprise so far. Perhaps Chicago could land someone like Aaron Harang if Cincy is smart enough to unload him like they did your boy Josh Hamilton (who won't stop tearing it up!).

As for the Giants, unless they can deal Patrick Duffy's nephew and get about four all-star players in return, I don't really see them catching the Dodgers or D-Backs no matter how brutal both teams have been lately. Just as long as SF finishes ahead of Colorado, I'll be a happy camper. :)

Wow someone I never expected to be back, welcome back Curt. Now onto the West, yeah the Snakes are in a bit of a slump but I expect them to bounce back, it should be a great stretch and just as long as we can keep our lead we'll be okay. Just as long as San Diego and Colorado are down in the standings than I am okay

And it doesn't help that the Dodgers are playing the slumping Mets, who look just miserable today. Where is their offense?

It's not over yet, BF56. Something tells me the Metropolitans are gonna heat up in the 8th.... :D

Also, your Giants had been playing outta their minds lately until they ran into the juggernaut San Diego Padres this weekend. So much for that surge to the top of the NL Worst West.

You were saying

Mets need wins like this to get back on track and that was a great 8trh Inning and it ruined Joe Buck's day too it sounded like.

Plus if Webby can pitch a good game tonight and pull the Dbacks out of this funk they are having the Diamondbacks can gain a game on the Dodgers
