2008 MLB Season

Two things that I'm really liking so far.

Hudson losing to his former team, and Josh Hamilton playing EXACTLY how I predicted him to. Any Reds fans on here wanna share their feelings on that trade so far?

I thought I was done with baseball, but the new non-steroid, non-HGH world we are now living in is driving HRs down and parity up. Even the Pirates, with that awful roster of theirs, are only one game under .500 as I type this. If baseball can return to how it was played in the 70s and 80s then I too shall return to the game I once loved.

I haven't seen this anywhere in the thread yet, but Jim Edmonds, who I'm assuming you know was cut by the Padres, is now a Cub. Weird.

Generally, wherever the Jimmer goes, that team becomes somewhat of a second team for myself. However, I don't think I can really get behind the Cubs, rooting for the Cards the past several years and all.

Oh, and might I add that I'm so happy the Angels didn't get rid of Ervin Santana.

If it makes you feel any better, being a Cubs fan gives you an eerie sense of satisfaction every 3 or 4 years or so. Also, Cubs fanhood is never sullied by bandwagon fans, since they're in no danger of winning the Series anytime soon.

It's been more than 26 years, and I'm still a Cubs fan. Don't let 1984, 1989, or 2003 fool you; we're not going anywhere.

So after getting on them very early in the season, and recently being more patient towards judging them, I ask... are the Tigers (17-27) still just off to a slow start or are they simply not all that good? I'd tend to go with the latter.

Approaching the 1/4 mark in the season I'd say it's a perfectly fair question to ask now.

And Jon Lester has just thrown a no-hitter for the Sox.

I'm telling ya, the Sox have an amazing arsenal of young arms. Just mind-blowing.

"arsenal", "arms" "mind-blowing" , I guess their offense is considered "explosive"?

I saw, I came, I left.

Angels to land 2010 All-Star Game

It almost had to go to an AL park and the only logical choices would be LAA, TB, KC, OAK or MIN. They haven't hosted it since the 1980's or before. The Trop is a dump, OAK and MIN are getting new parks in a few years and the Royals are in construction for their updated park. It makes sense to go to Anaheim.

My Predictions:

2008-NYY

2009-STL

2010-LAA

2011-AZ

2012-KC

2013-CIN

2014-OAK

2015-NYM

2016-MIN

2017-SD

Toronto apparently keeps applying but with all the new ballparks + KC's changes i don't see them getting it anytime soon.

I almost think Tampa Bay would get the one in place of Oakland. They seem to be further along in the process to actually start construction on time, aswear Oakland seems to keep hitting delays. Of course, Minnesota could even be moved up to 2014, since theirs is scheduled to open sooner than the other two.
