Shields out pitches Beckett? Nothing warms my heart more than a young, hungry team shutting up transplant/bandwagon fans of the opposing team at their home stadium. It's the most beautiful thing in sports.Especially when it happens to the Red Sox. If The Rays get any kind of decent pitching they are going to be a handful. They are going to make some noise this year. I don't think it will be enough noise to make a playoff run but they will have their moments. I just hope this is a sign of things to come and not a small hot/lucky streak. I love it when the low payroll teams make the big spenders look silly. And with what seems to be a pretty good amount of good young talent, they could cause some noise. If the A's somehow find a way to make the playoffs or at least stay competitive till the end of the season I will NEVER question the ways of Billy Beene again. I am absolutely ecstatic that they are playing this well so far. i mean sure it's early, but with the fire sale that took place during the off season I really thought all hope was lost.
