2008 MLB Season

Ok frank, I'll post here what I've been saying to you over IM. I think you need to just do what I did about two years ago. It's just a sport man, overall it won't hurt your life outside of it. Just watch the game cause you find baseball to be entertaining. If your team loses, bummer. But hey, at least you got to watch a ballgame, and got to see your favorite team to boot. I mean if you really like baseball, shouldn't you be able to appreciate the fact that you get to watch it all the time? Sure emotions will flare up, but you just gotta let it go sometimes man.

In honor of Jamie Moyer pitching 8 innings of 2-hit shutout ball to get his 5th win in a month overall, and improve his lifetime mark to 9-0 against Florida, I present the attached. Replace "Jimmy Key" with "Jamie Moyer" and you get an idea of how the Marlins may think before entering a Moyer outing ...

What's he like, 45?

This phan would not mind Moyer becoming the Phils' pitching coach when he stops dealing from the mound, but who knows when that will be?

Mets, Braves - keep doing what you're doing. Marlins - pull a 2005 Nationals and get out the gate strong then fade. Nats - keep doing what you're doing too. Sounds like a sound formula for a repeat NL East Champion performance in 2008.

I don't know, man. The Marlins are due for a championship, based on their 'win a ring, get rid of everyone decent, win another ring in 5 years' formula.

:censored:. Chipper hit the ball off the cage in BP and hit his face. It was swelling, and he isn't playing tonight. I didn't think it could get much worse. I was wrong.

Tank, I don't think you would of been strong enough to a Boston Red Sox fan pre-2004.

AND this happened on Friday the 13th? This confirms my theory...The Braves are cursed this year. No way this rash of injuries, and TERRIBLE record in close games is just bad luck. This is getting really ridiculous now.

So with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning of tonight's A's Giants game in San Francisco Street was going for a clean sweep to end the game to get one of his first straight and uninterrupted saves all season. Well, it didn't QUITE go as planned. With two outs, and right in mid pitch, the sprinklers came on. Definitely brings a new meaning to meet me on the 9th at 9

It was 5 the first time, 6 the second, so, I suppose I should put money on the Marlins in 2010, since it'll be 7.

93(inaugural season), 94, 95, 96, 97(champs)....5

98, 99, 00, 01, 02, 03....6

04, 05, 06, 07, 08, 09, 10....7

No Soriano, no problem. The Cubs, including former Blue Jays Ted Lilly and Reed Johnson (why did the Jays release this guy exactly?!), just finished off Toronto, taking 2 of 3 north of the border. They are now 4-1 in games since he was sidelined with a broken hand.

I'm gonna try not to jinx this, but the Northsiders are continuing the stellar play as if Soriano's bat wasn't even missing. After he went down, I didn't expect them to take the series vs Toronto or sweep Atlanta .... come to think of it, the Braves are horrible on the road and just as bad in close games, so nevermind that. However, I expected the Jays to put up more of a fight, especially after squeaking out a win on Friday.

Up next for Chicago, the Tampa Bay Devil Rays ..... a possible World Series preview?!

If that's the World Series then the Cubs are gonna have home field advantage for every single game. It still befuddles me as to why people don't wanna go see them play.

That's not really an excuse, you'll see a lot of Yankee fans anywhere.

But then again, Steinbrenner's based in the Tampa area, right? So yeah, you do have a point. Still, people should go and see them.

The Braves had an odd scheduling quirk this weekend vs. the Angels.

Game 1 start time- 10:05pm- Friday

Game 2 start time- 9:05pm- Saturday

Game 3 start time- 8:05pm- Sunday

Kinda odd.
